A question regarding Secret History of the World

Hi,
I'd like to simply ask if purchasing the book 'Secret History of the World' is necessary? I've been wanting to do it for over a year now but have kept putting it off. I'm not sure why but other than that maybe there is enough information in here and in the Wave etc to fulfill the same goal, and that also that the book may be getting out of date, and I base this on the fact that this community and the information it gathers and dwells on is always increasing. I'm at the point now where it is a year since my wife and I first separated (although now back together much has changed), and caused what I think may have been my first shock. A lot was thrown up in the air for me, and also the death of Pepperfritz probably couldn't have come at a worse time purely from my own standpoint (rip p) as her words seem to make the most sense.

I need to get back on track and almost start again and am not sure quite which way to do it. Currently, I am reading Unholy Hungers (4th in the rank, I was unable to read the 3rd and I am not sure why except that I think it may have come across as being too similar to the 2nd book....please correct me if I have judged it too prematurely), & The Controversy of Zion. What I have read over the last 18 months has been The Wave, ISOTM and the first two books of the big 4.

Thanks in advance
Dingo

I can assure you that the material in SH is not going to ever be "out of date." It was written that way. But whether you choose to read it or not is up to you. It's not a requirement to work on yourself, though reading The Wave and the other recommended books here on the forum is pretty darn necessary.

SH is for those who want all the major clues together in one place, along with some direct information that is invaluable. It does still have a few things that are nowhere on the website because that would be impossible without the context of the entire book. But that is just a few things.

If the internet disappeared and you only had SH, you could continue to work on your own.

In an other thread today(the Edwards) You mentioned a possible SH2... and its possible delay :scared:.

I would wery much want that book. I'm even contemplating bying the first one in bookform though I already have it in netform.

Hi Dingo,

I think you would not regret reading SH. Especially after having read The Wave and ISTOM, history will make much more sense to you. At least that was my experience. It is a VERY important book.

Excellent, the responses helped me a lot. What I'd like to know is how do I get it in Netform?

I did it by mistake, I thought I was buying the book but ended up with the other, ticked the "wrong" box I guess :-[.

Hi Dingo,

I also would not skip on the recommended Big 5 Narcissism Books. They all have invaluable information if you want to work on yourself. I found that by reading them all, I was able to get a better picture of what was going on with myself. They all talk about how we have been programmed, but they each come at it from different angles making it easier for you to see what may have been happening to yourself and how you are interacting with others. What one misses, the other picks up on, or so I think.

Just curious if your not wanting to read all of these psychology books could actually be your predator afraid that you reading all of these may actually give you a basis for getting a handle on "it" and getting "it" under your control?

SH read a year ago and just a few days ago I re-start. Now I'm studying and targeting data to clarify concepts, also did it with Gnosis and others. We know, you can read a letter once and see certain things. Over time when you re-read the same letter are "new" things and "appear" new learning.

Hi Dingo,

Just want to add that personally I found SH to be probably the most important book I've ever read. It was the first book of Laura's I read and it was a revelation - there is a massive amount of valuable information in it, so much so that it is more than worthy of several reads. I re-read this book often and each time it's like I am able to grok just a bit more of our true history and how it unfolded.

I'll second that! There's just so much information in there that it takes a few reads to fully digest it. even so i still find myself going back and finding something interesting that i didn't notice the first time round. that coupled with the list of sources to follow up on make it a literary gold mine!

Hi Dingo,

I would highly recommend SHOTW as well. It was my first contact with Laura's writings. I even read it before I found the SOTT site. I've read it twice and I could read it again and still come across new info.

'Tis true. I like good books in my library.

I don't know about you, but I find it hard to read such in depth books on a computer. The book needs no batteries, is portable and although a little weighty has such a high information per gram ratio it is well worth it. :)

I third that! And what I find very useful, is the glossary on the end of the book. And as the book itself is such a detailed account of the big picture, it makes it a valuable reference book. If I want to know something, I just "ask" the book. :D

Today I was rummaging a few topics in this book, and it was really fun. But most things are still very hard for me to grok. So like you once did, I see for now, that I made the right decision to put SHOTW, that I had begun with, aside for a while: I want to finish the Wave and Adventure series first and then reading ISOTM, bevore picking up SHOTW again for a thorough reading.

I can absolutely second that. Because I also find it hard, to read such a information packed book on computer. Leaving alone, that I find it easier in general, to read books in hardcover than on a computer. And I am also thinking, what would happen if there was no electricity anymore at all, because of the impacts of a natural catastrophe f. ex.? In this case, I would say: "Okay, I have a very good book consisting from paper here, from which I can get clues what is actually going on." ;)

Thanks all. I would like to buy the book in both forms. I did a search and it seems there is a pdf version, around 800 pages+. Is this so?
