Advertising in your local area.

I dunno... posting flyers seems rather passive, similar to posting SOTT articles on Facebook. It is ultimately up to those people exposed as to whether or not they want to read and digest the information.

Yeah I think the exception Mr Premise and Vulcan59 indicated with SOTT is reasonable enough. Virtualme asked about advertising Cassiopaea specifically, and that is discouraged for the before-mentioned reasons. Perhaps Virtualme simply wasn't aware of the different functions SOTT and the Cassiopaea forum both serve. :)

I don't necessarily disagree with you. Do we stand up and speak out? And, if so, is that a violation of free will to simply disseminate information... seems to be a valid question, IMO

It's hard to draw cut-and-dry rules, when the universe is so complex. I think the first step to any dialogue is to develop a strong sense of external consideration, and to never lose sight of the aims we share as two people conversing. OSIT.

We have been of the mind here on this forum that people will find Cassiopaea when they are ready for it. Sending people here willy-nilly, or pushing people to this forum is not a good idea. This has been pretty much proven. If people want to advertise for Sott, that is different, it is a news site.

Also, external consideration is NOT about making people feel all comfy and warm and fuzzy. It's about giving them what is needed and doing so in a way that is simplest for them and the one dealing with them.

Virualme does not really seem to know what this forum is about. He needs to read the material that has been mentioned to him in several posts instead of going out and advertising a forum that he does not understand most of what is on it.

You're right, for example I've tried it with my family with a negative result.

I agree, people can't be advised to "want to find the truth" - they simply have to have the drive for it, it's a hard lesson to learn that many STS beings just don't want the truth, living in their false hegemony contently- I say leave them to it!

It not only applies to the alleged STS beings but all beings have lessons to learn and their own path to grow IMHO

Promoting a website like Cassiopaea to relatives/family/co-workers is a bad idea in my opinion. This could put you and them in an awkward position and lead to unnecessary issues.

This is pretty much what I'm talking about. At best they'll not make a big deal out of it but as for myself, if I were to show my parents/friends the stuff I'm reading here, they would probably doubt my own sanity and this could lead to a very uncomfortable situation.

In fact, I do not even talk about most of the matters discussed here, let alone promoting this website.

I agree though that SOTT is a completely different thing since it's an alternative news website. But still, you should not ''push people'' to read it either. Another good way, imo, is to share relevant articles so that if people are interested, they can visit the website and decide for themselves if it is of interest or not. Moreover, links to Cassiopaea can be found there so if people want to click them, they are free to do so and you don't even have to tell them that you are a member of this forum.

My 2 cents.

I think that putting out flyers where people can pick them up is sort of equivalent to having a website that people can find if they are in the right place on the net, so to say. Putting up stickers in public toilets is my favorite idea since people are always happy to have something interesting to read there!

And, as noted, we have a thread on the topic and I think there are some links to stuff that can be downloaded and printed. We prefer to promote sott, though, and not cassiopaea. People can find cass if they are interested in looking into sott more deeply.
