Ali Xander and his post on FB

Hello Mods and Laura,

Not sure where this should go. I noticed Ali Xander tagged Laura in a post on Facebook so it is on her wall. I cannot see what the picture is but what concerns me is this Ali Xander's behavior and use of profanity in his comments on the post. Regardless of the issue they are arguing, his use of language is appalling and since he tagged Laura is reflects poorly on the Forum and such.

Though I would let someone know so that they can remove the tag if Ali did not receive permission for Laura to tag her on the post.

Here is the link to the photo and subsequent comments

I said:

Ali Xander, why would you tag LJK in this post when you are using so much tasteless profanity in your comments. It is disgraceful.

Ali said:

Uh huh, I am who I am. I did however post this story in the cass forum, so I feel like I'm now responsible for making sure people don't fall for what I'm now seeing as treachery.

I said:

Ali, did you receive permission directly from Laura to tag her in this post and subsequently post it to her wall? If not, then remove the tage.

Ali said:

Ya, I'm a bad bad person. What are you Laura's watch dog? If she has a problem she can tell me herself. I'll be glad to remove her for her, not for you.

Thanks for the heads-up, April. I'd suggest you don't need to further engage with Ali Xander. Laura has been notified.

Gotcha. No further interaction with Ali. Thank you for taking care of that.

Thanks. I was out making a declaration at the local police station... got back to that mess?! He's been warned.

You are welcome.

I cannot enlarge the screen shot he posted to see what he is ranting about. The issue I had was his completed lack of class with the profanity and how it would reflect on Laura and the Forum.

I saw that too, and was wondering if he had gotten permission to post it on Laura's FB page. Something is not quite right about his attitude. I think it's great, April that you're observant and concerned enough to let others know. I blew the page up but it's still somewhat unreadable.

If everyone hasn't already, maybe it's a good idea to crank up the privacy for tags?

Facebook > click the arrow in the top right corner > Privacy Settings > Timeline and Tagging

"Review posts friends tag you in before they appear on your timeline" > On

"Review tags friends add to your own posts on Facebook" > On

Having said this, there doesn't seem to be a way to stop someone from tagging you on their post. All this does is hide it from your timeline/wall until you approve it. The only way to remove your tag from their post is to go to the post on their wall/timeline, click the X and select "Remove tag..." which removes your tagged name. Your actual name stays there though, just without the link.

Thank you very much for this tip. I just did the corrections in my FB settings. I remember one friend tag me one day on a picture about Stalin, and the picture was a homage to the dictator! So at that time I didn't know how to correct the delicate situation. Now I know! Thanks.
