Almost creepily accurate 'Color Oracle'

The Color Oracle is a psychological color test developed by the Swiss art instructor, therapist and astrologer Johannes Schneider.

You choose from a pre-determined set of colors, first the one you like best, then the one you like least - this is done several times, then the assessment is created.

Keep in mind that your unconscious plays a major role in the selection of the colors. As it is the case when laying tarot cards, it is inadvisable to repeat the color test too often because otherwise, the quality of the interpretation quickly fades.

The site notes that yes, monitor color differences might alter the results slightly from what you'd get were you doing this with the actual physical color tiles originally used (but that they have no control over that possibility).

FWIW, when one enters the date birth, country and city of birth, one is directed to a "personal portrait" page. From there one chooses "color oracle" from the "Free horoscopes" panel above to begin the test.

The connection between colors and emotional states makes sense somehow because they occupy different associations in our minds. The level of analysis that leads to tests like this, however accurate the results are, is very interesting.

Quite interesting- pretty much spot on on the positive aspects, less so on the negative aspects. It says a lot that I blame others for my current situation, which is not the case at all, as far as I'm concerned.

Or am I missing something?

Well, for what it's worth, it does say:
Take in the texts, and let them work on you, even those you may find somewhat uncomfortable or provocative.
;D

Indeed, mines were beyond accurate, almost exactly!!! ... I saved it, questions are good to answer me, as an exercise for the being. It pretty much went correlated this issues of mine from this thread http://cassiopaea.org/forum/index.php/topic,38824.0.html

Thanks kalibex, my results are good reminder of what I need to work on.

The whole thing was spot on, creepily accurate indeed. Thanks for the share. I should save the results too to remind myself of the insights.

Thanks for sharing! Accurate from the first few lines for me. I wanted to cuss out the webpage! :P I didn't see a part where you fill out your country, birthday, or other credentials, but I PDF'ed the results to refer back to.

thanks for sharing, for me was right on target, very interesting so say the least :O

I thank you very much for sharing this color test, although the result turned out to be somewhat painful for me... When I read the first color of my unpleasants I started crying.

and it went on. just like all the pleasant colors and given interpretation of them mirrored me to a large but degree, the unpleasant colors did just as well.

I think I started crying because I am somewhat aware that I have all these issues, but cannot overcome them. I additionally did the color horoscope. I am obviously an awful person, to others and to myself. Very selfish, headstrong, single-minded yet depressed with a lack of self-confidence; which is quite true, i have to admit.

:(

This was so on target for me I felt as though I just had a two-hour therapy session and the very adept therapist assessed my situation. Uncanny and a good exercise that encourages me to move forward with the activities I already knew would be beneficial for my current circumstances.

wow ... this was very accurate ... just what i needed right now :) .. thank you for sharing kalibex

Hello etezeye, I understand how it feels to discover parts of ourselves that we are uncomfortable with, it can be very depressing. I've been there and it can make you very drained and unhappy. What I found really useful was to have some compassion with myself and to remember that everyone has to start somewhere and recognising these parts of ourselves that we wish to change is the first step. I found the dialectic toolset thread very useful as it discusses a book called Inviting a monkey to tea by Nancy Colier. It talks about self acceptance and healing.
I found that this self hatred is a terrible waste of energy that I would rather use towards achieving my aims.
Also you could use this period as one of positive disintigration which can help you to propell towards positive changes and work on the self.
I hope this helps a little. Hang in there.

yes this helps! thank you very much for your advice and your compassion. I will look for the book you recommended and will follow the link you offered. And you are absolutely right that self hatred is something that drains energy very quickly from me, it is literally exhausting until there seems nothing left. And because of selfishly diving into books and internet for research I simply forget that I need good company. Being lonely much of your time is not a very good idea for someone with depression.

I'm with you there. I live alone and sometimes it's really tough as my friends are in the next city. I was actually thrilled to start my first day at work today so I could interact with people! I joined the local gym and take lots of classes there and am starting college in a couple of days so there will be lots of chances to meet new people and have the social bonding we all need to stay well.
I'm telling you these things because although it can seem like a mountain of a task when you have depression if you push yourself just a little to do something like the above it can have a huge effect on your self esteem and well being.
I love pouring over books and the information on the forum here as well. It's about finding that balance so you can divide your time between working on your knowledge and being.
