The Living Force
Palinurus said:Hi Psalehesost,
the code I'd come to write suddenly turned into an extensive analogy for the learning cycle (as described by C's) and its connection to life experiences....that analogy could be networked, but would require a long, technically oriented introduction to convey
At the risk of going off topic, I for one would be eager to read your input on that one. New analogies or metaphors can prickle the mind into better understanding and the topic could be well suited to spurn us on into some new creative thinking about the learning cycle(s). Would be looking foreward to sparring with you over such matters. Could you open up a new thread on this at a for you convenient time?
I'll give it a go, including only the necessary technicalities and trying to be concise.
The program in question produces audio from text files that contain a script for it. Inside the program, the statements in a script become a list of events. These events make changes in the sounds that play as they progress. The events concern "operators", which are linked in various combinations to produce sounds; the "top" operators are "voices", each corresponding to a separate sound - there may be any number active at any moment.
The analogy enters with the main sound generator function (ie. procedure, block of code that can be called). This function - code - is called again and again to produce the next bit of output. There are two significant parts inside it: The event loop (analog: learning cycle), and the voice loop (analog: life experiences / life events).
A main difference with the analogy is that this is linear, step-by-step computer code with definite timing, so the two loops are synchronized through linear steps. In contrast, the learning cycle and life experience are synchronized through consciousness - the higher self - which is timeless, and timing is never definite.
C's said:Alright, my dear, you want the facts, so we will give them to you, and hopefully you will comprehend. If not now, then when necessary maybe…
Fact number one: All there is is lessons.
Fact two: This is one big school.
Fact three: Timing as you perceive it, is never, NEVER definite.
Fact four: What is to happen, as you state it, is a ways off, and will not occur until you have reached that point on the learning cycle, and you are not close yet.
Fact five: The learning cycle is variable, and progress along it is determined by events and circumstances as they unfold.
Q: (L) So, the events and circumstances of our lives, individually and collectively, can indicate where we are on this learning cycle? [...]
A: [...] There is only one learning cycle, and where you are upon it, determines your EXPERIENCES, and vice versa.
In the event loop (learning cycle), there is always an active "point" - either in-between events (between changes in life experience - though new things may also have been previously arranged to unfold, and may do so meanwhile to set the stage for what comes next), or the point may arrive at an event - which then occurs, things changing in the voice loop (ie. in life, or the present "plan"). The position in the event loop and the changes in the voice loop thus gradually slide along together.
There are no "jumps" in the event loop, just as there are no "jumps" in the learning cycle:
C's said:Q: (L) Is there ever any point where lines connect from one point on the cycle so that you can ‘jump’ from one point to another? Like a wormhole in space or something?
A: Refer to facts 1 and 2 and 3.
Q: (L) So, no short cuts?
A: Now, refer to 3, 4 and 5.
Q: (L) So, certain events and circumstances could help a person to make “leaps?”
A: No “leap”, acceleration.
The analogy works well here:
If you think about it, what would happen if you made a "leap" in the event loop? Because events (the progress on the learning cycle) arrange the changes in and performing of sounds (things experienced / lessons encountered), skipping some would break the music.
What is the music? On the individual level, all being lessons, then existence - the music - is a curriculum of sorts. Breaking the music would mean breaking the curriculum. And on the level of All, breaking the music would mean breaking the experience and self-knowing of the Creator through the Created.
Now to look more closely at the voice loop, ie. life experience / life events / lessons encountered: Unlike the event loop (learning cycle), there is no single "point" here - there may be many things going on at once. Some things are yet to come and remain "in store" for the future; some things have passed for now, at least in the shape they once had.
As things are processed in the voice loop, their state changing as they play out, they may elapse (play out fully) and so cease when their time comes. And new things that have been put in store may naturally come into play as the present "plan" is followed. The learning cycle (event loop) may however dictate that old things be reinstated where needed - perhaps the same, perhaps with a difference - or that something is removed before it would otherwise fully play out - according to need and changes in plan / reality.
With possible further design, the analogy can be extended: Loops could be added. I can't find it now (have searched), but there is a thread in which one member and then also Laura discussed repeating life situations and choices over the years, things repeating until the lesson is learned, and one's life - reality - changing when finally making a new choice.
There are two loop constructs that could be added: First, you could add a loop event that in the event loop goes over the past events until the condition is fulfilled - while in the code, this would use a count and counter to determine when to stop and go forwards in the event loop (learning cycle), in the learning cycle the higher self would know if/when the lesson had been learned and so proceed accordingly.
The other possibility is having events that set up loops within the "voices" of the voice loop (life experiences), these proceeding in such a way while the rest goes on separately.
For an accurate analog, perhaps it would be something in-between - the position on the learning cycle doesn't change much until these major lessons, which have been made to loop in themselves, have been learned and so are moved past.
There is also a different kind of analog with the first possibility, if you picture the looping as really going back to an earlier position on the cycle - least severely, you have first the idea of life "recurrence" as written of by Ouspensky; then, moderately, you have the idea of repeating 3rd density if lessons are not learned and the opportunity for graduation is missed; and most severely, soul smashing, going back to 1D.
Finally, there are two conceptions (analogs on two levels) of the "voices": Either as separate elements of one life experience / set of lessons / music piece of a life of an individual, as previously mentioned. Or, as a collective song (this might make an analog of loops as described above with the time loops in which our reality is presently stuck) - and then, on a related note, the C's made some musical analogs in this session - people as instruments, oneself in the future setting the notes to play, discord and concord as people play together depending on whether or not their orientations are harmonious, and the effects thereof, and much more that goes beyond things easily related to the above analogies and into other interesting places.
