Animals and ponerization

I guess that explains the stomachache I got after trying the gator....
I wonder why people in the southern states more than any other location eat stuff like snake, gator, sharks etc...?
It seems backwards, but.. if you could see the quality of people living in this area now, it certainly explains a lot! (I would say borderline evil)

I think in the absence of those pathologies that keep groups of people polarized, we would most likely realize that there are strengths and weaknesses associated with any part of the country. I was born and raised mostly in South Georgia. A Northerner who found themself down here would most likely run into someone who could help them survive by hunting, fishing, stalking, trapping, etc. (not to mention, some advice concerning which gator NOT to eat if you ask nicely :D).

A Southerner finding himself way up North, would most likely run into someone who could help navigate those treacherous paths that lead to "msg laden Chinese take-out, twinkies and ho-hos, wonder bread and Miracle Whip". (grateful shudder)

It is??? ;)
:rotfl: :lol2:

As for Floridians being a "breed apart," that's a good synopsis of the situation. If you look at my genealogy pages, http://laura-knight-jadczyk.com/genealogy/persons.html and follow up some of the lines from me, you'll see just how muddled it can all be.

The same can be said with more accuracy for the North - but that's just my opinion as a Southerner. I was 12 years old before I knew Damn Yankee was two words.

Ouch!! Hey, us Yankees aren't all bad... ;) 'course up this far, we're more like Canadians... :cool2:

Maybe a bit off topic but i've found this most interesting documentary: it is called Predators. It is a BBC/Discovery Channel documentary from 1995. From what i've watched up to now, it is very good.

Here are some screenshots:

The documentary can be watched here

I don't know much about Floridians, except what I read in Peter Matthiessens"s Everglades trilogy, "Bone by Bone", "killing Mr. Watson", and "Lost Man's River".

No Cheney close up?

I think he's in the "Scavengers" video ... right between "Buzzard" and "Dung Beetle"

I was just thinking of hyenas and vultures or something along those lines but yours is more appropriate! :rotfl: Anyway here it is when it catches sight of prey.!

Lol. Haven't watched the documentary entirely, but who knows, maybe there are some Cheney close ups in it? ;)

I'm curious, do you have a scale for "quality of people?" 1Q, 2Q, 3Q, etc. ? :D

What i meant by quality of people is that people in this area are usually very shallow, mean, always irritated, or just plain ignorant(not wanting to learn things for themselves and expecting everyone to do things for them) and they usually take it out on the people around them no matter what social setting it is(on the road, in the grocery store, paying utility bills...etc). It seems like the middle class is starting to become nonexistant with the rich getting richer and the average joe not able to keep his/her job and pay their bills creating tension and more crime than I have ever seen before here. There's a heaviness in the air all the time. I do live near one of the largest air force bases and its also a prime location for vacationers/snowbirds, so there's always people coming in and out all year round....
I wonder if that contributes to the hostility that is gaining steadily everyday

It would be a small comfort if the people you described were in one area. Coming from the North, I can tell you this isn't so. New York is flooded with tourists all year round as well as people coming from every corner of the world to live there. There may be some hostility regarding this, but in general, people are the same wherever you go...

Maybe I took it the wrong way, but I saw the joke in the first set of quotes above as a jab at Southerners. Sort of like self deprecatory humor...
