Are you going to Vote?

Just wondering if any forum members are going to vote in the US tomorrow.

Also, wondering if anyone who is NOT going to vote might consider going and voting for no one just to give us a report on the conditions, whether it was a e-voting machine or not etc.

I will not be voting tomorrow. I would go and check it out for you, but I haven't been a registered voter for years :)

oh yeah, forgot about registering! I think I voted once in my whole life, when I was 18, in local elections. Then again, all we had was local elections, one of the 'benefits' of living under occupation.

Hmmm, I wasn't planning on it, but maybe I will go observe and vote for Rosanne Barr/Cindy Shehan. :) :cool2:

I think if anyone has the time to do so, it might be interesting to go and observe the goings on and see if you can spot any weirdness. If it's an evoting machine, how does it work and how confident are you that your vote was registered accurately. I mean, it wouldn't be too hard for these things to spit out little receipts with your vote on it that is then deposited in a box so there is a paper trail too.

I will probably vote. Our polling place is just across the street. I am curious if we now have electronic voting machines or still have the paper ballots. Electronic voting ends even the remote possibility that the outcome is honest.

I am under no illusion that my vote counts for anything. It's just theater, the plot has already been written, we just don't know exactly what how the play ends as yet.

I'll be glad when the election is over. Just so tired of hearing about. The mail the last two weeks has brought 3-6 political fliers each day. Plus political calls on our wired phone and campaign workers at the front door. And really nasty ads prevail on the radio.

I voted in the Primary elections and here in our county in Michigan, we do not have e-voting machines. It's a paper ballot. I am voting tomorrow for the local offices (sheriff, judges, prosecutor). They seem to still be counted.

I don't think that I've been a registered voter since 2000 or something and I remembered voting for Al Gore because of familiarity (being vice president before and all that). And, I haven't voted since then. So, no, I'm not planning on voting tomorrow.

I think I may go in to vote on the propositions. In California we have Prob 37 on the ballot which will require GMO foods to be labeled as such. As for the President - No Confidence.

I'm not a registered voter any longer, so I cannot 'legally' (ha!) cast a ballot. However I do live quite close to a polling site, so I may just saunter over and see what's going on. The last time I voted was in 2004 and at that time I used an electronic device. We shall see what tomorrow and the next few days shall bring. I'll report any 'findings' that are questionable.

Since some of the line-ups for voting booths are atrociously long, maybe it would be a better use of time to chat with voters once they get out, or people conducting the exit polls? :cool2:

I don't see myself wasting time at the voting machines either. I usually end up running into people I really would rather not see so I'm a definite no for this one.

I may go and vote on a couple of local propositions -- if I do, I'll report anything interesting I see here.

I think a Romney victory will produce a bigger Shock to the USA because of the demographics of the two parties. I think the results will have some implications for the future of America... but I could be wrong.

I sent in a mail in ballot to my home city. I might try and vote tomorrow to see how tight the procedure is to prevent voter fraud. I can just say I made a mistake if they find out I'm not registered at this precinct.
