FBI Video Shows Oregon Militiaman Shot Dead by State Police

Oregon militia member Robert "LaVoy" Finicum was shot dead by state police after he had raised his hands for a moment in a sign of surrender, a partially-edited video released by the Federal Bureau of Investigation showed.

WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — In the video, which was released on Thursday, Finicum, 55, drove his white truck off Route 395 in the US state of Oregon after coming up to a road block manned by Oregon State Police. He then got out of his truck and clearly raised his hands in the universal sign of surrender.

The video then shows Finicum slowly lowering his hands. FBI Portland Special Agent in Charge Greg Bretzing said in an official statement on Thursday that Finicum was allegedly reaching toward his pocket where he was later confirmed to have a loaded 9mm pistol.

The fatal incident occurred on Tuesday on a road at least 30 miles from the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. Finicum and other militia activists, led by Ammon Bundy, had taken over the refuge since January 2 in a protest against allegedly discriminatory US federal government land policy and practices toward ranchers.
"We believe there are four others who currently remain on the refuge. Since the establishment of checkpoints, a total of nine people have left the refuge. Of those, the FBI released six and arrested three," Bretzing said.

Finicum was identified in a report from KTVZ news as a rancher from Colorado City, Arizona who had, travelled to join the Bundy militia at the Oregon refuge.

I watched that video. First, it is shot from a drone. I'd like to see a body cam or dash cam. They are supposed to have those. Second, i slowed it downed and took it frame by frame. It does LOOK like he reaches towards his pocket, but if you pay close attention, you will notice his hands are visible the entire time. He does not "reach" so much as seem to react. I have nothing to back this up except instinct. But it looks like they shot him once, possibility in that arm, and he grabbed that area and then was shot again. im interested to see a medical examiners report.

Thank you c.a. for sharing, also i heard about this tragic story this morning while reading SOTT, according to eyewitnesses Finicum didn't tried to reach for his gun, on the contrary, he raised his hands and those fascist cops shot him at least six times, when he was shot and on the ground he was still with the hands up, unbelievable when you think of those american citizens who still think that their government isn't a fascist one and that they are not living in a total police state. What scares me most is the fact that if Europe will continue to be USA's vassal, sooner or later we also will end up like our brothers the americans, stripped off our rights under total surveillance, terrorized to death, totally compliant, oh wait, the nazification of Europe has already begun, eurocrats using the refugees from the Middle East as scapegoats to distract the attention of the population from their nefarious dirty deeds and at the same time they have the chance to further their nefarious agenda...

[...]"He was just walking, with his hands in the air, and they shot him dead," Sharps said, adding, "His hands were still up after he was dead."

Finicum was shot at least six times, three times after he fell, she said, in an account posted on Youtube and shared by the Bundy Ranch Facebook page.

Sharps claims that Finicum exited the vehicle after his truck hit a snow bank and became stuck as he attempted to evade law enforcement. Finicum, yelled at law enforcement once out of the vehicle, telling them "just shoot me," which they quickly did, according to Sharp.

Sharp claims that the vehicle was riddled with bullets and estimated Finicum's vehicle was hit with over 120 rounds. She makes the point clearly and concisely that he was unarmed and had his hands in the air when he was killed in the ambush-style attack.

Raw Story ran with the headline that that an "eyewitness" saw Finicum charge law enforcement in an attempt to excuse the senseless killing of Finicum, but in the featured video within that story, the witness, Mark McConnell, actually says that he did not see the shooting at all.

McConnell states that Finicum exited the vehicle "charging" in the direction of law enforcement and that he wasn't killed in cold blood, but also makes a point of stating that he didn't see the killing of Finicum.

The fact that McConnell admits to not seeing Finicum be gunned down refutes his earlier statement about Finicum not being killed in cold blood, as he didn't actually see Finicum's death at the hands of law enforcement and has no idea whether Finicum's hands were up or not.

"He went after them. He charged them," McConnell said, citing the second-hand accounts of the events, alleged to have been given by Shawna Cox and Ryan Payne, both passengers in Finicum's truck. It remains unclear how exactly McConnell would have heard the accounts from those witnesses, since both Payne and Cox were detained by the authorities, while McConnell was allowed to go free.

Mainstream media sources have gone into overdrive, attempting to provide a smokescreen for the pre-planned ambush by acting as an echo chamber for law enforcement, claiming that law enforcement sources "pulled over" the occupier's vehicle and that they were "unclear" on "who fired first."

It would seem odd that their source would be unsure of "who fired first," unless referring to which law enforcement officer took the first shot, as the non-law enforcement eyewitnesses claim that none of the protesters fired even a single shot.

There are officially more mobile devices than people in the world

The world is home to 7.2 billion gadgets, and they’re multiplying five times faster than we are
As of today, GSMA’s real-time tracker puts the number of mobile devices at 7.22 billion whilst the US Census Bureau says the number of people is still somewhere between 7.19 and 7.2 billion.

Gadgets like tablets, smartphones and not-so-smart phones are multiplying five times faster than we are, with our population growing at a rate of about two people per second, or 1.2% annually.

"No other technology has impacted us like the mobile phone. It's the fastest growing manmade phenomenon ever -- from zero to 7.2 billion in three decades," said Kevin Kimberlin, Chairman of Spencer Trask & Co.

Kimberlin’s company was an early investor in Millicom, a startup that alongside Facebook and Internet.org is working towards establishing mobile connections in the developing world.

Leonard Gubar, Director of Millicom, called the mobile phone “miraculous.”

The firm pointed out that these figures, whatever they say about the proliferation of handheld technology, should be contextualised.

It’s not that every person in the world has a mobile device, far from it; more than half of the population don’t have a mobile phone.

That may only be a fraction of the total number of mobile connections, but it was enough to knock us people off our perch in the man vs machine superiority stakes.

It’s not that every person in the world has a mobile device, far from it; more than half of the population don’t have a mobile phone.

Although this suggests that a fair few people in the developed world are using more than one Sim card, the GSMA’s data does also take into account the growing number of gadgets connecting exclusively with other machines like cars, and smart metres.

There are around 250 million machine-to-machine connections, according to CNET, (http://www.cnet.com/news/there-are-now-more-gadgets-on-earth-than-people/)

In the video which Finicum is shot it's clear he got out of his truck with his hands up, he then reaches for something in his pocket, it could have been a cell phone or gun or something else it's hard to tell from the video. He would have had to have a death wish to pull a gun because he was surrounded by armed feds ready to shoot, according to Victoria Sharps the cops had already fired at them back down the road when they were first stopped.

After the shooting Mark McConnell clams in this video https://www.rt.com/usa/330365-oregon-lavoy-shooting-police/ that Finicum and Ryan Payne were in a "heated discussion" before Finicum was pulled over and then took off in his truck crashing into the snow bank. Payne who is a dubious character and former military intelligence http://www.sott.net/article/310090-Agents-provocateur-Is-the-Oregon-occupation-being-stage-managed just happened to get out of Finicums truck before he sped off to his death, one wonders what the "heated discussion" was about.

This whole thing smells foul from the the agent provocateurs in the "Oregon occupation" to the massive police state presence that lead to the death of Robert “LaVoy” Finicum.

In the video it just looks to me as though he is reacting to who ever comes up behind him, probably screaming at him.
He looks a bit confused for a moment as if undecided in which direction he should face, but quickly decides to face the "majority" of the shooters.
Looks like turning his back, was a fatal mistake.
Notice that the snow is up to his knees and it appears as though he is unsteady on his feet because of the deep snow and maybe puts his arms down a bit to catch his balance while turning.
I don't see him reaching for anything, only trying to stay steady as he trudged through the deep snow.
It looks more like premeditated, cold blooded murder to me.

There was some discussion that he may been intentionally (aka by not seen snipers perhaps 22- caliber short round), shot at the hip, which would have provoked a flinch reaction of grabbing the wound. Thus given the look of reaching for weapon. And not having any sound makes it very convenient to control the the visual narrative. More like an execution. And boy they are pros at it buy now given the history and the training they receive.

I agree that it was cold blooded murder, it didn't make any sense to me that he would reach for anything in his pocket at that point he had to know that the cops would shot without hesitation, maybe he was shot in the hip, it's hard to tell from the video. The whole thing was a set up. I guess the question is why did the feds kill Finicum? Did they want to create a martyr and stir up the militias and anti government sentiment?

Seems there might be another hidden twist to this Hammond Ranch situation? If you check out this Government U.S. Geological Survey PDF - the land surrounding the Hammond Ranch, including property on the Ranch contain enormous amounts of Natural Gas, Uranium, Mercury, and Arsenic. The Hammond's are the last private landowners in the area - who have not traded their BLM permits and private property for land on the valley floor, (so to allow Congress to create a 170,000 acre wilderness - so they can legally steal the under ground mineral rights - for profit.)

U.S. Geological Survey Bulletin 1740-B.
_http://pubs.usgs.gov/bul/1740b/report.pdf
I think someone's been pulling your leg. Looking at that bulletin PDF, its study area was the Pueblo Mountains just to the west of the road between Denio and Fields at the far southern edge of Harney County in the far southeast corner of Oregon on the border with Nevada. I don't think the Hammond Ranch is located there, but instead is farther north in the vicinity of Diamond, closer to the town of Burns. Besides that, the report doesn't mention any valuable natural resources in the study area. It states: "No mineral resources were identified in the study area. [...] Sedimentary rocks in the study area have low potential for oil and gas resources."

Oregon Minerals Map
_http://www.fromthetrenchesworldreport.com/oregon-minerals-map/152893

Here is the Harney County OR (actually the whole Oregon) minerals map. As you can see, the land on and around the Mahleur Refuge has primarily bentonite and zeolite clays only. They are industrial minerals. They can be found many, many places in America.

There are a couple of gold sites south of the refuge.

You can select metals (Gold, Uranium, Mercury, Copper, Barium, etc.). Most of that is on the eastern side of Steens Mountain. There’s also much more Gold and Uranium on the eastern side of the mountains north of Denio NV in Mahleur County.

So, the article posted earlier regarding getting the ranchers off of the Mahleur Refuge area may, indeed, be as an environmental set aside for future mining in areas further east. You know, protecting sage grouse and all that. Just like the spotted Owl and the forest products industry.

The Feds do not want the refuge land because there are valuable resources under the land, at least according to this map. I don’t think the ranchers want to keep their land and grazing rights for the minerals.

I’m still researching the geology of all of southern Oregon. It’s incredibly complicated. Oregon is the most volcanic state in America. I’ve got a scientific background, but I’m not a geologist, so it’s slow going.

There were two successful Uranium mines NE of Lakeview OR, so you never know what may have precipitated out in the Mahleur Refuge valley. I doubt it’s gold or uranium.
Based on my gut instincts and research, I still think it has more to do with Uranium and Gold in the two valleys east of there.

But, who knows what secrets may been kept and sold to foreign corporations? The Chinese, Indians and Russians are building light water Uranium fuel nuclear reactors at a rapid pace. Both are exploring safer Thorium fuel. The world should be using safer Thorium reactors (look it up if you get a chance). The USA and USSR only used Uranium reactors because they produced Plutonium for bombs during the Cold War.
