I thought he looked like a "tweeked-out meth head" also have seen that look on the face of one having a "bad" acid trip... but I do think they are exploiting the most sensational photo they have of him

I find the silence on Chief Federal Justice Roll do be DEAFENING!! He is has barely been mentioned and almost as a side note in most accounts. Judges are to walk a fine line with politics so it's strange that he would have been at "rally" at just the moment the shooting starts. I tried to do some research on him and didn't find much that really stuck out other than that he was nominated by Papa Bush nearly 30yrs ago which maybe irrelevant. Also was a story of life threats to him only a few months ago involving a case he he ruled to let go forward between a local rancher and some immigrants for $32m US

Perhaps he was the main target and this is why he's not getting much press attention? Any of you you Forumites in the local area may be able to shed some light on his history, cases he ruled on, ect. BP, Energy Companies, Big Pharma, Defence contracts, Big banks, TSA, ect?? :cool2:

There has already been much speculation about Loughner's mention of "conscience dreaming", could this be more of a message from his programmers to anyone who would think that he is a Greenbaumed Manchurian candidate?

"con" science dreaming anyone?

The science of conning the public via programmed robots? Just the kind of "in your face" insinuation these arrogant psychopaths would want to send to anyone who's thinking about actually doing something about the situation.

David Icke to blame?!? ENJOY

SPLC blames Ayn Rand, David Icke and Others for Arizona Shooting

Who is to blame for Jared Loughner’s bizarre shooting yesterday? According to Mark Potok, anyone with even the vaguest links to his bizarre and disjointed online ramblings.
As a shocked world looks to the background of accused shooter Jared Lee Loughner for clues as to why he would shoot a Congresswoman, a Federal judge and others, Mark Potok, spokesman for the Southern Poverty Law Center, predictably stepped forward on Keith Olbermann’s MSNBC program to paint a broad brush against the “radical” right, whom he automatically deems responsible for the shootings.
Going from the books posted on the accused shooter’s You Tube reading list, Potok deceitfully attempts to connect him to author Ayn Rand’s We The Living while ignoring Loughner’s praise for the Communist Manifesto and national socialist Hitler’s Mein Kampf.
Even more outrageously, Potok excerpts a vague term used by Loughner about “conscience dreaming,” which he says he studied in college, and links it to new age speaker, British author and ‘conspiracy theorist’ David Icke, despite the fact that nothing known about Loughner has ever mentioned Icke or his work. Not only is this an example of unjustified guilt-by-association, but David Icke has manifestly promoted non-violence throughout his decades of work. Further ‘conscious dreaming’ is a term often linked to yoga practices and Eastern philosophy not “radical” right wing ideology.
Because Loughner allegedly posted statements about gold and silver-backed currency on his MySpace and other postings, Mark Potok further connects Loughner to right wingers on this point; however, it is the Constitution, in Article I Section 10, which demands that “No State shall… make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts.”

It seems to me that the media's haste to blame Palin for this whole thing seems to be winning her tons of points with her supporters, who just see this as another example of the media unfairly attacking her. There's an article (_http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2011/01/most-americans-do-not-blame-political-rhetoric-for-arizona-shootings-poll/) saying most people don't blame political rhetoric for the attack, which I see might be winning Palin some more fans as she plays the victim in this case.

Fearing violence from tea party activists, Arizona Legislative District 20 Republican Chairman Anthony Miller and several others tendered their resignation this week following mass shootings that left six dead and Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) in critical condition.

Miller, a 43-year-old former campaign worker for Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), said that verbal attacks and blog posts from members of the tea party had him fearing for the safety of his family, according to a report in The Arizona Republic.

"Today my wife of 20 yrs ask (sic) me do I think that my PCs (Precinct Committee members) will shoot at our home?" he wrote in an e-mail following the shootings. "So with this being said I am stepping down from LD20GOP Chairman...I will make a full statement on Monday."

Tea party members supporting J.D. Hayworth for senator in the midterm elections accused Miller, an African American, of being a "McCain's boy." One detractor had even made his hand into the shape of a gun and pointed it at Miller.

"I wasn't going to resign but decided to quit after what happened Saturday," Miller said. "I love the Republican Party but I don't want to take a bullet for anyone."

District 20 Republican Secretary Sophia Johnson, first vice chairman Roger Dickinson, former district spokesman Jeff Kolb also followed Miller's lead and quit.

"This singular focus on 'getting' Anthony (Miller) was one of the main reasons I chose to resign," Kolb reportedly wrote to another party activist.

Arizona state Sen. John McComish, who had supported Miller as chairman, told the paper that this battle for local party leadership is more extreme than others he'd seen.

"It's too bad," McComish said. "He didn't deserve to be hounded out of office."

Kolb explained that Miller had been elected chairman even after Sheriff Joe Arpaio made a personal appearance for tea party candidate Thomas Morrissey.

That's not so surprising. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it was my understanding that the buzz was dying down with the Tea Party. This will be another issue to rally around as the MSM decries U.S gun laws. More bread and circuses.

Interestingly enough, ATS has been claiming that the shooter was "most-likely" registered and posting at the ATS forum. So more 'conspiracy theory' stuff to add on I guess.

Its funny, as days go by, more and more things get added to that letter they found in his parent's safe. It is now supposed to include:
"Federal investigators found the words "Die Cops" and "Die Bitch" scrawled on a letter from U.S. congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords's office in the home of the shooting suspect, a sheriff's department official said Tuesday night.

This article mentions that he went missing for a year in his online community in 2008, after his return his rants became increasingly non-sensical
Around 10th grade, Mr. Loughner began acting more strangely and separating from his friends, according to Mr. Montanaro. Mr. Loughner took a break from the gaming world in 2008 but resumed a year later, says Mr. Montanaro. Mr. Loughner joined an online alliance called SancTuarY/Collab. He wrote under the pseudonym Dare. After last June, he stopped playing, says the games administrator.

Mr. Loughner seemed consumed with the outlet the private-posting world provided, says Mr. Montanaro, who was also part of SancT/Collab. Compared with the debates he had engaged in as a young teen, his postings were often nonsensical, say people who knew him in both settings. Mr. Montanaro described them as "weird poems coupled with 'logic' statements."

Coincidentally, when did Loughner apply to the army? 2008. December specifically.

And re: Military dropping him for drug charges:
In October 2008, Tierney was living in Phoenix, and Loughner came to visit. They went to see a Mars Volta concert with friends, and Tierney was surprised when Loughner said he had quit partying "completely." Loughner, according to Tierney, said, "I'm going to lead a more healthy lifestyle, not smoke cigarettes or pot anymore, and I'm going to start working out." Tierney was happy for his friend: "I said, 'Dude, that's awesome.' And the next time I saw him he was 10 pounds lighter." Tierney never saw Loughner smoke marijuana again, and he was surprised at media reports that Loughner had been rejected from the military in 2009 for failing a drug test: "He was clean, clean. I saw him after that continuously. He would not do it."

Now, according to an ABC News interview with Loughner's "last close friend", the "Zeitgeist" documentary may have had a profound impact on how Loughner viewed the world.
ABC News said:
Osler pointed to an online documentary series called "Zeitgeist" as a possible influence on the man.

The series rails on currency-based economics.

"I really think that this 'Zeitgeist' documentary had a profound impact on Jared's mindset and how he viewed that world that he lives in," Osler said.

Osler also said that Loughner's favorite quote was "Out of chaos breathes creation."

Loughner ended his friendship with Osler through a text message two years ago, writing to him, "I don't want to be friends with you anymore."

TUCSON — A victim of the shooting spree here that killed six people and wounded Representative Gabrielle Giffords and 12 others was arrested Saturday after he spoke threateningly at a televised forum intended to help this stricken city heal, the police and witnesses said.

The man, J. Eric Fuller, 63, a military veteran who supports Ms. Giffords, was “involuntarily committed for mental health evaluation,” said Jason Ogan, a spokesman for the Pima County sheriff’s office.

Mr. Fuller, who was shot in the left knee and the back on Jan. 8, was among several victims, medical personnel and others who attended a special forum, at St. Odilia Catholic Church, being televised by ABC and hosted by Christiane Amanpour.

State Representative Terri Proud, a Republican, was sitting two rows behind Mr. Fuller. The topic of gun control had come up in the forum, she said, and a comment was made by one of the speakers about a bill introduced recently in Arizona that would allow faculty members on college campuses with concealed weapons permits to carry guns.

Ms. Proud said she spoke up to clarify the bill’s language. At that point, Trent Humphries, the founder of the Tucson Tea Party, who was sitting one row behind her, rose to speak and suggested that discussion about gun legislation be postponed until after the funerals. He started to say that he, too, had been affected by the tragedy, explaining that a neighbor had been a victim.

At that point, Ms. Proud said, Mr. Fuller blurted out to Mr. Humphries, “You’re dead.”

Mr. Fuller then began to “behave in a very odd manner,” she said. “He was making inappropriate comments.”

After the forum wrapped up, Ms. Proud said she went to one of the police officers providing security at the event and asked him if he would file a report about the comment to Mr. Humphries. The officer told her they were already investigating it.

About five police officers surrounded Mr. Fuller and escorted him from the event. As he was leaving, Ms. Proud said, he turned and yelled, “You’re all whores.”

Mr. Fuller got into a confrontation shortly before the Jan. 8 attack, which occurred at a meeting between Ms. Gifford and her constituents in front of a Safeway supermarket. Mr. Fuller said in an interview this week that he argued with a man he described as a former Marine after a heated discussion over politics. Gabriel Zimmerman, an aide to Ms. Giffords, separated the two. Mr. Zimmerman was killed in the attack.

Mr. Fuller spoke dismissively of Republicans during the interview. “They appeal to simple-minded rednecks,” he said

Speaking of Jared L. Loughner, who is accused of being the gunman, he said: “Saying anything about him would be a waste of breath. Recognizing his existence is a waste. I don’t like his face.”

Mr. Fuller said he had trouble sleeping on the night of the shooting and had calmed himself by writing down the Declaration of Independence, which he memorized three decades earlier.

In the days after the shooting, his anger at the right seemed especially strong. In an interview, he repeatedly denounced the “Tea Party crime syndicate” and place some of the blame for the shooting on Sarah Palin and other Republican leaders who he said contributed to a toxic atmosphere.

Mr. Fuller used to drive a limousine, but in recent years, he said, he got by working various odd jobs, including collecting signatures for political campaigns.

He said he went to see Ms. Giffords to “protect her from the Tea Party crime syndicate.” He said he had planned “to shout them down, because I can make a lot of noise.”

Mr. Fuller said that he still has flashes of anger.

In an interview with The Arizona Republic, Dr. Laura Nelson, deputy director of the Division of Behavioral Sciences of the Arizona Department of Health Services, said that Mr. Fuller’s actions could be a response to the trauma he suffered a week ago.

“Grief after what happened here in Tucson last week is a completely normal reaction, and anger is a very common symptom of grief,” said Dr. Nelson, who had been invited to speak at the forum. “I hope that he’ll get the help that he needs to get through this very difficult time.”

It seems this particular event was laced with a lot of suspicious types. Perhaps this guy was the one meant to go off and Jared was insurance? Perhaps that's jumping to conclusions, but a vet with a specific agenda, an ax to grind and a temper seems like it would be a great story to sell too.

Although I suppose then there would be no reason for him to shoot Giffords since he was on there side.

I found this article on the Gifford shooting which has some print screens from the crosshairs website... http://community.livejournal.com/sf_drama/3141123.html?thread=582208515

Huh? Jared Loughner pleads NOT guilty to Arizona shootings

Witnesses reported Loughner smiled broadly throughout the hearing, including moment when his lawyer entered plea of not guilty

Jared Loughner, the suspect in the shooting of Democratic congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, pleaded not guilty in court, in his first response to the charges.

Silent but displaying the grin that has become his trademark, Loughner made his second appearance in public since the attacks on 8 January at the federal courthouse in Phoenix, Arizona.

He is alleged to have killed six people and injured a further 13, including Giffords, during a deadly shooting rampage at a public meeting at a supermarket car park in Tucson.

Witnesses inside the courtroom reported that Loughner - shackled and dressed in an orange jump suit - smiled broadly throughout the hearing, including the moment when his lawyer entered his plea of not guilty.

Nicholas Riccardi, a journalist for the Los Angeles Times, said the 22-year-old "continued to flash an uncanny, self-satisfied grin throughout the otherwise routine nine-minute arraignment".

Loughner was surrounded by heavily armed marshalls on his journey to and from the courtroom. He faces five federal charges, including one of attempted assassination of a member of Congress, two charges of killing an employee of the US and two charges of intent to kill employees of the US. He will almost certainly receive Arizona state charges as well, and is likely to face the death penalty if convicted.

Loughner's lawyers gave no hint how they planned to defend him against the charges. When Judge Larry Burns asked if there were any doubts about Loughner's ability to understand the charges, his lawyer Judy Clarke said: "We are not raising any issues at this time."

Clarke is a veteran of several high-profile murder cases, having defended the Unabomber, Theodore Kaczynski, and the Atlanta Olympics bomber, Eric Rudolph, both of whom were convicted but escaped the death sentence.

Judge Burns is normally based in San Diego but Arizona's judges have all recused themselves from hearing the case since one of the murder victims was Arizona federal judge John Roll.

After the hearing prosecutors said they had passed on to defence lawyers copies of 45 disks-worth of material taken from Loughner's computer.

Loughner's next court appearance is on 9 March, when the full extent of charges against him will be revealed.

This guy is totally greenbaumed! I wonder if they will play the insanity card here... he sure fits the bill.
