Balancing act - Miyoko Shida

[Courageous Inmate Sort]

I saw this video and found it rather impressive. It is an act where a woman balances wood "sticks", for lack of a better word, one upon the other. As she finds the center of balance of one stick, she uses another one to keep it in that position.

I found it beautiful not only for her ability but mainly because of the delicate balance achieved throughout the structure.

Also interesting that it is all held together by the weight of a feather, literally.

We saw this at Cirque du Soleil Amaluna a couple years back (not sure if it was her though), it was quite amazing! You could feel everyone holding their breath the moment she started. Such precision and concentration, one of the best acts we saw :)

This video was passing around on FB and I just saw this. That is a fascinating woman with a steadiest hand in the world, putting the branches under the feather and after all the branches, putting them on her head. I noticed her eyes were so intense. Amazing.
