"At least three police officers were killed and four to seven more were injured when they were shot by an unknown gunman, or gunmen, in the state capital of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Sunday, the mayor’s office said, according to media reports.

Earlier media reports had said up to eight police officers had been shot, at least two of them dead.

The injured police officers have been transported to Our Lady of the Lake hospital guarded by policemen armed with long guns wearing bulletproof vests, media report.

Baton Rouge police responded to a call reporting a “suspicious person walking down Airline Highway with an assault rifle,” the source said, adding that the person opened fire as soon as the police squad arrived, CNN also reported."

BATON ROUGE, LA

Officials have confirmed that three law enforcement officers have died and several others were injured during an early morning shooting on Airline Highway near Old Hammond Highway in Baton Rouge. They also say one suspect is dead and believe two others may still be at large.

A witness described hearing at least 25 to 30 gunshots in the area of the B Quick store on Airline Hwy. It started shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday morning.

“I walked out into the street to see what was going on, there was a man lying in the street," the witness said. "I assume he was dead because he wasn’t moving."

The witness believes the shooting started before police arrived and said,

“this was not a come at police shooting.

During a call to dispatch an officer said,

"unknown where the shots are coming from."

Investigators are working to determine how many shooters were possibly involved.

“We do know, and do believe there are more than one suspect. That’s why we’re alerting the community,” said Cpl. L'Jean McKneely. “We sending in the robot to see if there are any explosives in the area or any explosives on him.”

Officers with the Baton Rouge Police Department and the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office both responded to the scene. Law enforcement officers with both agencies were struck during gunfire.

The scene was contained shortly after 10 a.m., but it is still an active area. Officials are asking the public to avoid the area and to contact law enforcement if you see anything suspicious around your area.

Tensions have been high between member of the Baton Rouge community and law enforcement since Alton Sterling was shot and killed by police July 5. It is unclear whether this incident is connected to the Sterling incident.

“We have to heal from this hurt,” said Rep. C. Denise Marcelle. “I’m calling upon everyone to pray today and to cease protests.”

Baton Rouge shooter identified as former marine, reportedly ex-Nation of Islam member

The killed gunman in the Baton Rouge shooting was identified as Gavin Eugene Long, a former marine and allegedly a former Nation of Islam member. He reportedly carried out the attack on his 29th birthday.

The suspect is said to have been a black male from Kansas City, Missouri. On the day of the attack he reportedly turned 29,CBS News reported.

Long allegedly left the Marines in 2010 with a rank of a sergeant E-5, after an honorable discharge.

The suspect used the pseudonym of Cosmo Setepenra in his online videos, where he talked about oppression and police protests. In some of the videos he made references to Alton Sterling, the black man who was killed by police in Baton Rouge on July 5.

Other videos also suggest he used to be a Nation of Islam member, which is an African American Islamic religious movement that was founded in Detroit, US.

Long attended the University of Alabama for short time, according to reports.

Other media reports said that he served seven months in Iraq and filed for divorce in 2011.

Q: (Joe) What they said before was that this kind of fantasyland dreaming about something that isn't objectively true, that seems to allow or anchor some other actual negative energy. So, your dream doesn't necessarily have to be negative.

A: It allows the insertion of what amounts to a feeding tube.

Q: (Andromeda) So basically it's like a wrong use of imagination, whether positive or negative, if you're not anchored in reality. It leaves an opening for something to attach.

(L) So, say I'm in wishful thinking of some sort. I'm dreaming. Say I'm dreaming about winning the lottery. Or I could be thinking negative thoughts toward somebody. Either way, it's a drain. So I'm in this condition, and that allows an STS feeding tube to be anchored in me, which means basically there's an energetic connection between me and some kind of 4D STS forces. Then if I'm just dreaming or dissociating a little bit, the connection can accelerate that, make it worse. I can feel worse, or believe it harder or stronger. And then that can enhance physiological processes like brain chemistry, hormones, etc. And usually we get triggered to think things because of stuff we're not even always aware of. In the Wave, I used the example of a blue hat. A kid gets exposed to somebody abusive who's wearing a blue hat. They then always go into a state of fear when they see a person in a blue hat, but they don't even realize what's going on. They get triggered and have negative feelings toward that person and the person may be totally innocent and benevolent. But because of the blue-hat programming, the dissociated person acts negatively toward them and thus begins a negative dynamic. The other way would be somebody whose favorite relative always wore checkered shirts. So when they see checkered shirts, they always feel warm and fuzzy and are naturally attracted to the person wearing the checkered shirt, but they don't know why. They may feel very favorable toward a psychopath in a checkered shirt who takes them for everything they have or destroys them emotionally. In both cases, the initial beliefs about the other person or situation has no basis in reality. That could be a subconscious trigger for just the beginning - the opening - of the whole process. And then it will snowball...

(Joe) It's very similar to mind programming and the way people are going off all over the world today.

(L) So, now I want to turn to world affairs. We just had a supposed terrorist truck attack in France. Was the guy in the truck a terrorist, or just some guy who was enraged and had blood on his mind?

So for this one there appeared to be quite a bit of talk in the MSM about multiple suspects at large, sources from the Baton Rouge PD saying they were searching for multiple shooters or at least accomplices and this being repeated in various sectors of the MSM. Then once they identify this guy that all goes away? Is it just confusion during the initial event, or is it deliberate disinformation during and/or after to confuse everyone and create more cognitive dissonance/disintegration?
