Bear kills man in Bulgarian forest

Sofia - A man has been mauled to death by a bear in Bulgaria, local media reported Tuesday.

Regional police in Smolyan, 170 kilometres south-east of Sofia, confirmed on Tuesday that a 65-year-old man was killed by the bear, the Sofia News Agency said.

The man disappeared Monday afternoon while in the forest collecting firewood. Residents of the village Kutela, high in the Rhodopi mountins, found his mutilated corpse.

Now the people are fearful because there are many bears in the area. Frequent attacks on beehives and domestic animals indicate that hunger is driving them closer to humans.

As well as strange behaviour by people ( I'm thinking of the recent rash of stabbings worldwide) perhaps it's also worth while noting unusual animal attacks on humans? If HAARP is, in anyway, responsible for the stabbings could it also be affecting animals, making them more aggressive than usual?

I think that's an interesting question....and wonder if there is a correlating uptick in animal attacks when people start getting crazy...

"The policeman and a friend were walking through the woods yesterday when the bear attacked. The friend managed to run and call for help."

You know there's a really bad joke in this, but out of respect for the dead.....

My Hubby actually has a t shirt with that joke on it. He was told it was not a suitable t shirt to wear to work. ;)
