Beautiful Resonating Female Vocal Tracks

Hi BHelmet, actually seeing that this is your second post on the forum, we would appreciate it if you would post a brief intro about yourself in the Newbies section, telling us how you found this forum, how long you've been reading it and/or the SOTT page, whether or not you've read any of Laura's books yet, etc.

Certainly - I have pretty much gobbled up almost everything- the wave; adventures; regular SOTT reader of all the features; bought and read the Secret History download; read all the Gurdjieff books (some more than once); Mouravieff too. Pretty much aligned and collinear with it all. I really appreciate Laura's multi-level approach to reality and connecting the dots; the fact we have to sort through the wheat and chaff to find what is true (or should I say 'sort through the organic uncured bacon and big macs'?)

I recognized at an early age that something was not right with the world - that it is full of lies; bizarre dreams; trouble socializing; grew up with the suppression of the 50's; remember the pit in my gut the day JFK was assassinated; rebelled in a big way; was subjected to the CIA ready availability of drugs in the 60's; was conscripted for the Vietnam debacle and refused to go (long story/MAJOR test); my life turned around at 21: I realized I was unconsciously on a very destructive default STS path and Werner Erhard's Est training really helped me at the time become aware of my personal irresponsibility and a lot of my unconscious beliefs and assumptions. Played music semi-proffesionally for about 15 years.

Was a travel agent and was able to see a lot of the world (before the age of mass tourism) and this widened and changed my perspective greatly. Married/4 kids with all the learning that entails. Lived 10 years in the multi-cultural melting pot that is Hawaii - tons of lessons there too.

So, bottom line: it is time to come out of the woodwork and try to give back; get in the game and contribute. Lastly, thank you and I thank Laura for all her hard work and insightfulness that has been shared.

I just love her music! My mum used to listen to it a lot when I was a child and I always enjoyed it... I don't know why but it gave me a nostalgic feeling. This was one of my favourites as a child: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NrOR_9eqyI And this one! :halo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2tiuhpLex4

I also like Enya, even though she's quite a New Age icon... :-[ Some of her songs also gave me that nostalgic feeling as a child... until today.

I don't know what it is about this woman, or if it was a manipulation of gthe movie being the first time i saw her but Rebekah Del Rio singing this makes me emotional.

Please forgive me. Can I post here when the last post on this thread was several years ago...because I like this topic so much?

The Celtic music theme brought an exquisite rendition of "Danny Boy" to mind. I know. Please don't groan. This rendition was sung by Maureen Hegarty for a BBC program. The production qualities are not very good...so I apologize. Turn up every sound you've got on your computer.

I was looking for a version several years ago (In fact, if you scroll down the comments section, I actually left a comment for Ms. Hegarty because I was so taken by her version.) and listened to every single rendition by male and female singer I could find on YouTube. I came upon Ms. Hegarty's version. Wow. I wanted to sing this song for a project...so I was looking for a version which spoke to the heart. Her rendition is hard to hear and slower than most of the versions you will likely have heard...but, in my heart, it is the most beautiful. As the old DJs used to say over the radio (the what?!), for all you folks who have lost someone...maybe lost contact, maybe don't speak to someone any longer, or perhaps divided by exiting this plane, here's one for you.

There should be no problem adding to an old thread, Anonymous IX.

PS. Maureen has a lovely voice.
