Before the Music Dies

Just caught this yesterday. While I don't agree with some of what was said (a bit too optimistic at the end, I think), what I do like is that it explains how the music industry is ponerized. My favorite part is when they show how a pop star is born. It's an hour and 28 minutes and unfortunately the first site has commercials roughly every 15 minutes. Also, the first site, I believe can only be viewed by those in the US. The second site should be able to be viewed by all. Just to warn everyone that there is occasional harsh language.

This is the pop star snippet for those who don't wish to/can't view the entire documentary.

Thanks, that was quite well told. I especially liked the musings on how real music is lived by being an expression that is true to ones self. Apart from describing ponerized management and distribution it also touches on the narcissistic drive of contemporary musicians.
