They (the NATO and the West) are not getting one thing, which is that they are talking about war and terrible things, while Russia remain its calm, trying to promote piece, quiet life and similar. ANYONE with just one small grain of normality, no mater how aware or asleep they are, will (even unconsciously) choose piece and quiet life instead the war and other bad and unpleasant stuff. Wishful thinking gets them (NATO for example right now) every time :)

The problem is that they could be manipulated to participate in the conflict under a pretense that they are already under attack. For example, for quite awhile now Baltic countries have been talking in a hysterical way about an impending Russian aggression, as if Russian tanks are already on their doorstep. But nothing could be further from the truth.

In reality, there is really nothing going on. Nothing at all. :) Russia only "raises its brow" and "rolls its eyes". And, yet, anti-Russian activists, like Kasparov, participate in all kind of Baltic forums, where they promote this violent propaganda, on purpose igniting the fire and play on unfounded fear that Russia will attack any moment now.

Maybe they are just bored, because they do have a very slow, peaceful and uneventful life here. On the other hand, after talking to a Russian speaking Estonian, apparently Russians don't like this way of life anyway, because it leads to a personal degradation (her words). ;) So, really, there is nothing worth "occupying" there. :P

Yeah, if you're gonna go there, go all the way, or as far as you can! Our goal, as a general rule, is to take concepts that the Cs have shared and try to figure out how they 'translate' down to our reality and how they manifest. That seems like the appropriate thing to do, because if we keep it all in the realm of 'high strangeness' or 'esoterica', how is that going to help the average person who stumbles across it. We have to keep in mind that, while WE may be fine with the 'far out' unverifiable ideas, the average person has a hard time 'going there' and needs a 'nuts and bolts' explanation, at least to get them started.
