Postimperialism: A Template for a New Society and Why It's Necessary

The evidence is all around that our current global society has reached its nadir. Today, the rampant corruption and psychopathy that define state and global 'leadership' has filtered down to sully all levels of society. From the new phony religion of myopic and obtuse 'science' and the old phony religion of made-up gods and saviors promising eternal bliss in 'heaven' or eternal damnation in 'hell', to sweat shops for the poor and dead-end mind-numbing jobs for the 'rich'.

Our chronically polluted environment is ignored in favor of endless wars on brown-skinned people that provides the rationale for police state measures in the affluent 'West'. Meanwhile, large numbers of the (otherwise) normal human population have responded to such chaos and disconnection with apathy and dissociation into increasingly toxic and pathological 'past times'. Yes indeed, things certainly could be better on our planet. But what can we do to help set things straight?

This week on Behind the Headlines, Joe Quinn and Pierre Lescaudron will be discussing some ideas about how a postimperial global society might be structured and why it is a very good idea that we all begin to seriously consider a future where building society from the 'ground up' is necessary.

Behind the Headlines is live this Sunday 28th February 2016 from 12-2pm EST / 5-7pm UTC / 6-8pm CET

Just wanted to know if the show already started? Because I don't see anything on the page, including the chat. Thanks.

Yes the show is running now.

Very strange. For me it still appears as "scheduled" and that there are 44 more minutes until its beginning. It has probably to do with the fact that SOTT sees my time as one hour later (GMT+3) from my current location (GMT+2), but no matter how I try, I can't find the proper place to change my location to the current one. But even so, with the previous shows I had the same problem, but at least the show started playing anyway. Now it doesn't show anything.

Can you change the parameters of your computer?

The time and the date should be in your bottom right corner.

Clicking on it, normally you have the possibility to change the time.

Can you change your time directly on your profile on Sott ?

No, there is no option to do it. Or at least I wasn't able to find it. Do you know where I should look?

I thought that there were an option to do that but after checking it, there is none.

The main SOTT site doesn't have timezone setting. All content is in UTC/GMT, and that's that.

I'm pretty sure Mikey made the radio site so that JavaScript will get the local time, but this is a built-in function of the browser. So, I have no idea how to fix it, or if it can even be fixed!

Well, first of all, it works now, also because luckily the chat and radio start working half an hour before the show. But I was also able to finally fix the problem! As it turns out, even if I manually changed the time on my computer, it still had my time zone as GMT+3, and that's what the browser probably saw. Well, thankfully now it is finally solved. Thank you for the help.

Good news and I'm happy that you can join us on the show.

A very thought provoking show, with, as said, intuitive ways in which to restructure in a post imperialism world. Thank you Pierre (and for your article) & Joe for having the discussion.

I just got in to hear the last 30 minutes of the show so will listen to it all later.

I have to say that this week I could hardly hear anything. I had to put my laptop right to my ears! My volume, and your volume was on 100%. Not sure how that changed. I get feedback on putting speakers on the laptop - not that I had them with me.

My time zone works well on the site.

The messages did not show up. Eventually they came up when I later scrolled down a page. There were about 20 messages in total?

Looking forward to the article too!
Thanks everyone
