Belgium begins flu vaccination drive

While I can't vouch for the source, I did this story last night on the local news out here. I'm currently looking for a better source.

Belgian doctors today are starting a large-scale vaccination drive against Influenza A (H1N1). Many municipalities have organised special days for residents to be vaccinated in groups, for example at town halls.

As in the Netherlands, the priority groups to get flu shots include the elderly, pregnant women, children under two and people with respiratory problems. Belgium also regards parents with babies a high-risk group. In the Netherlands, vaccine doses shots have been distributed among general practitioners last week. Vaccinations will begin on Monday, though some GPs have already started. On Monday the Health Council is expected to announce its advice on whether or not to vaccinate children. So far, they have been excluded from the priority groups.

Yes but it isn't mandatory.
I haven't heard about town halls, except for one case but I am not sure it's widespread at all.

It wasn't really successful when the medical staff working in hospitals should have been vaccinated a few weeks ago.

Even in major newspapers, the vaccination is contested or the real numbers of H1N1 infected people.

I haven't heard about something widespread too. I'm under the impression that belgium people are quite aware of the scam. They don't hesitate to criticize propaganda articles in the news (blaming unvaccinated doctors for example) _http://www.lesoir.be/forum/editos/2009-11-07/grippe-le-scandale-de-la-vaccination-hospitaliere-736792.shtml
They don't hesitate to criticize the article or the author.

But i haven't heard about something widespread in belgium at the moment.

The same in France, the majority of people seem to be very critical of that vaccination campaign and the whole story behind it, they don't seem to buy it (for now), despite all the efforts of our idiotic Minister of health, Roselyne Cachalot Bachelot. ;D
I talked about it to my children's schoolteachers, they have no intent of getting the shot and reassured me: "Don't worry, if they make vaccinations at school, we'll warn you beforehand".
