Beit Shemesh is also right beside Sdot Micha Airbase, a "secretive" Israeli Air Force missile base and storage depot, officially known as Wing 2 or Area 209, whose existence Israel neither confirms nor denies.

The base is widely believed to house Jericho-series ballistic missiles (IRBMs/ICBMs) and possibly nuclear warheads.

Yes, his death probably gives Israel and the US more hope for a regime change. Hard to say how likely that is.

At least so far Iran seems to be pretty stable and there were already several thousand foreign agents discovered and executed recently. Building up that network probably took many years for Mossad/CIA. It is also interesting that the 'purges' within the Chinese military leadership happened at around the same time - maybe some intel from captured operatives was passed from Iran to China?

It does look like it will depend on Iran when this war ends - how much damage of their infrastructure are they willing to take to inflict serious damage on Israel in return? After about 2-3 weeks is when Israel will probably run out of air defense rockets and may become much more vulnerable. Though in the same 2-3 weeks the US and Israel can inflict heavy damage on Iran as well.

It could be Trump's usual negotiating tactic of making extreme demands and then meeting "in the middle". Him backing down repeatedly from extreme demands is what people call "TACO".

It seems that the endgame Israel hopes for is not even an US invasion of Iran, but to get Iran to collapse internally and break apart into several states that can be more easily subverted and controlled.

One factor is that Trump does seem to want to control more of the world's oil supply, which may influence his decision to strike "in the interest of the US". Maybe that is the main carrot the Zionists are tangling in front of him.

Trump may also see it as a major blow against the USA's main economic competitor China, since the Chinese have in recent years bought a lot of their oil from Venezuela and Iran. The loss of both Venezuelan and Iranian oil supplies would have serious implications for China. Could this bring forward the timetable for an attack on Taiwan to distract the USA from the Middle East thereby leaving Israel in the lurch?​

Agreed, though it seems that Iran has nothing to lose at this point by prosecuting a very strong and sustained retaliation and offensive position for the foreseeable future. With the US-manipulated attack on their economy, and then the deployment of terrorist cells within Iran in an attempt to foster regime change, attacking while in negotiations (for the second time), and now the assassination of Khamenei (as well as a chunk of their military leadership), the bombing of the girl's school, and so on - this has become an existential matter for Iran as a number of pundits are saying; do or die.

And members of the US administration proposing a ceasefire through back-channels now? Its an insult to injury - whether Trump really wanted to minimize the conflict or not.
