The Living Force
There's no shortage of bad news most days, and today was no exception. After passing by a few depressing headlines as I ran errands, I got a good laugh, courtesy of the image conjured up by a bumper sticker.
Drug store, headline of the local paper (in largest font since 9/11):
“10 SCHOOLS TO CLOSE!”
Grocery store, front page story in USA Today:
“The Obama Administration has been playing down a campaign pledge to withdraw troops from Afghanistan by July 2011…pushed out to 2014...”
Health food store, bumper sticker in the parking lot:
“It’ll be a great day when schools are well-funded, and the Air Force has bake sales to buy bombers.”
Oh, for the day when America's military is reduced to Cub Scouts selling cup-cakes from the Pentagon sidewalk! I might even buy a few (if they were gluten-free :) )
