Christmas Day is over. I think that "Christmas" is an okay word to use because it means the mass of the anointed and Caesar was certainly anointed! But the whole holiday season probably ought to be related to Caesar more directly.

Caesar was deified on the 1st day of January, 42 BC. I think that we can keep that in our minds on New Year's day. I'm even thinking that we should re-formulate the winter holidays starting with the solstice on the 21st, and including activities through the 1st though I'm not sure just yet what I would include. Obviously, it helps if one incorporates much of what is already in place outwardly and assigns it a truer meaning inwardly.

Counting from the 21st to the 1st, inclusive, we have 12 days... so, what can we think of?

And Happy Caesarmas to all of you... I'm so stuffed I feel like the turkey!

Happy Caesarmas to everyone. Hoping that you have/had a great time.

Just throwing an idea here, maybe 12 days for preparing ourself for the next 12 months of the years or maybe 12 days to do a retrospective of the last year.

Each day been associated to a particular month...

Ooh, 12 days of Christmas! How about a sort of 'stations of the cross' type thing, with 12 events in Caesar's life? Or something like the labors of Hercules? Bookended by Caesar's comets:

1 - Dec 21 - Solstice - Caesar's 'star' - Caesar's birth -
2 - Dec 22 -
3 - Dec 23 -
4 - Dec 24 -
5 - Dec 25 -
6 - Dec 26 -
7 - Dec 27 -
8 - Dec 28 -
9 - Dec 29 -
10 - Dec 30 -
11 - Dec 31 -
12 - Jan 1 - New Year - Caesar's comet - his 'ascension' as a 'god' - anniversary of his deification - Caesar 'reborn'

The Christmas tree can be Caesar's tree (http://www.atlasobscura.com/places/caesars-tree).

Gifts and cards can represent Caesar's giving nature.

Since Christmas is about God's 'gift' to the world, his 'firstborn', maybe we can celebrate some of Caesar's inventions/creations Caesar birthed from his mighty mind, along with his birth of course. Some of Caesar's legacy:

-he invented the book
-he started the first 'newspaper' (acta diurna)
-reformed the calendar
-pacified Gaul, invaded Britain, never lost a war
-anti-elite, pro-people laws (land, extortion, food)
-founder, re-founder of cities (Carthage, Corinth, colonies: e.g., Capua in Italy, Metellinum in Spain, Hippo and Thapsus in Tunisia, and Sinope on the shores of the Black Sea)
-his clemency, compassion, insight

Anyways, just a few ideas off the top of my head right now!

C's advice to remember Caesar comes to mind. What would Caesar do?

It reminded me of 12 Daily Exercises for Mind, Body, and Soul. Maybe in the Christmas time they could incorporate Caesar ideas, ideals and legacy?

Here's the 12 sections, with some random associations of connections with Caesar and suggestions for incorporating them into the exercise:

1) GROWTH IN KNOWLEDGE
-Caesar studied everything: history, literature, architecture, philosophy, law, religion, ethnography
-dedicate 1 day to studying something, like Caesar!
2) CLEANSING THE HEART WITH ÉIRIÚ EOLAS
-meditate on Caesar and his emotional awareness and supreme being, in order to be more like Caesar
3) ASSIMILATING KNOWLEDGE AND BEING
-apply examples from Caesar's life to your own
4) STAYING VIGILANT ABOUT DIET
-Caesar was never indulgent in his eating habits
-Ummm, turkey... LOL - eat a meal that's healthy, and maybe give some food to the poor
5) PROTECTING PSYCHIC HYGIENE
-Call a spade a spade, don't lie to self, and nurture your soul with some good impressions
6) PURE FAITH AND NON-ANTICIPATION
-Let the dice fly high!
-this can be like a new year's resolution, set a goal, and take steps, but don't anticipate a definite outcome
7) STAYING VIGILANT AGAINST PSYCHIC ATTACKS
-identify something in life holding you back, then work on coming up with a solution
8) SELF-REMEMBER, SELF-OBSERVE
-be like Caesar! be aware in every moment
9) PAYING STRICT ATTENTION TO OBJECTIVE REALITY LEFT AND RIGHT
-Caesar needed to, in order to plan and decide the best course of action for himself and all his people
-get caught up on some current events
10) HAVE THE WILL OF A LION
-Caesar in a nutshell
-combine with #7, #6
11) DISCERNING EMOTIONS
-combine with #8
12) NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK!
-Caesar formed, or at least tried to form, a network of helpers, and had the council of friends
-get together, talk stuff over, sing and dance!
