Can you inflate a balloon?

I was in a situation where me and others were to inflate some balloons. Some people did it without much effort while others couldn’t. So, could I do it now? No, I couldn’t, not even a little and I almost passed out while others got a red face. I remember how easy it was to blow up a balloon as a child and until this time I haven’t done so. So, this got me thinking, since those who struggled to inflate the balloons were smokers, if there is anything to that? That smokers can’t inflate balloons. Yet could it be it is medications or other reasons or is there just a technique to use that we didn't use? Those who did it successfully I can't say for sure if they were smokers or not.

My question is if you are a smoker can you inflate a balloon with your lungs?

Havent tried in a while. But last time i inflated a bunch without much effort, and I am a smoker.
Perhaps its a good idea to take spirometry test just to make sure there is nothing more serious going on.

So my technique is: first stretch the balloon and pull it apart a bit, then collect the air in the jaws (the jaws are completely filled and tight) and bring it into the balloon with pressure. Once this first step is done, it is easier to inflate the balloon. With elongated balloons this is sometimes a bit more difficult and takes longer. It works better with the normal shape. If I blow up many in a row, I can get a bit dizzy, but blowing up works and I am (I would say) a heavy smoker... Don't worry too much, do you also have problems with the air in other activities?

You could blow one up every day for practice. Balloons also make life a bit nicer and you can draw faces on them, make funny noises with them after they are inflated, rub them on your hair and you get a funny hairstyle... just everything you did as a child. :-P

Yes. Have been dizzy while having shortness of breath from time to time for some years.

I’ll get my hands on some balloons right away.

I suspect there could be. I have had other issues which I never searched help for either most of them being healed over time.
Well lets hope its nothing serious. If everything is ok you can increase lung capacity with breath work.
I kind of stay away from hospitals, for reasons I dont know, it is just the way I am.
Not just you. They are generally creepy places. But sometimes you have to, especially if this is worrying you.
Keep us posted.
