I would appreciate any advice from someone with experience in the area of psychology or any sub-category of same etc.

Are there any qualifications in the psychological feild that anybody thinks are worthwhile?
that could be used/turned in a conscious way perhaps?
have any members on this forum had a positive outcome from studying and working in this area?

My whole life i have had a 'skill' for active listening. It has become like a spiritual practise which i could talk about forever but we will leave that for now.

Anyway, i have a burning need to utilise this for a career, for a long time.
I want to return to higher education and be employed somewhere in the field, like something to do with subconscious analysis? but my problem is i always put it off when i read things on this forum about biased psychologists, as i put the opinions of this forum above all else.

Anything could be used worthwhile and turned in a conscious way.

What I have found studying psychology is that lot of psychologist loose their time debating which theory is right and which is not, if it is a discipline or a science, following dumb ideologies. But the root of the problem is the psychologist, so it's normally that everyone that enters to study psychology wants to help the world and make of it a better place, etc etc but a lot of that people end in marketing and helping the industries to sell their products, or help the politicians to follow whatever objective they have. I recommend you to give it a try, it's worth it.

You see this and can avoid if you choose. I'm not someone who is well versed in these fields but would caution a complete biased about psychologists, because like anything, the intent matters and some are likely darn good.
