Here are some links to the enormous Carlton Complex Fire in Eastern Washington. My wife and daughter fled to Portland. I stayed home with the chickens, ducks and cats. Our house was saved by a DC 10 dropping fire retardant on us. Our neighbours were not so lucky.
for those of you with facebook accounts, here is the drop of retardant that saved our house,

Take care of yourself and be safe denekin. :hug2: I am sorry you are going through this.

Yes be safe denekin! There has been such enormous loss with this fire. I live in Washington state, but I live on the western side of the state. I have a friend here that has family over there, and their grandpa lost his house, and another family member as well.

I am happy your home is still there.

denekin,

Since I knew little about you before this unfortunate event I tried to read most of your previous posts. I feel I know you a little better and I truly am grateful that you have been spared in the largest fire in the history of Washington state.

The link of the couple driving in a BMW SUV was eerie. It was like nighttime when it was daytime. It caused me to think about what I would try to take with me if faced with the same situation. I realize that we may not really have much of a choice if disaster strikes very suddenly. It is very sobering to say the least.

May you stay safe and well,

Stay safe Denekin, especially if the fires are still burning. The embers can get going again days later.
This situation will test your community's spirit. I hope your neighbours are OK.

Excellent photo blog of what we have experienced here. This is what planet earth will be like when the meteors gain in strength and frequency...

Just when we thought we were safe, another fire breaks out across the river from us:
