Cassiopeia weird 'stars'

A half hour ago I saw two pretty brilliant stars, a little apart side by side, just below the Cassiopeia constellation.
I was wondering which stars it could be since I didn't remember seeing these stars ever.
When suddenly their light diminished quickly and gone they were ! No more lights at all.
What could it be ? Not satellites nor planes...
FWIW

Could it be that these stars were obscured by a layer of clouds? Of course that would not explain that they were very brilliant and that you hadn't noticed them before.

I too have seen a few times in the past stars that were abnormally bright and then vanished abruptly, while surrounding stars remained the same (therefore no clouds). Others were more like sudden flashes, and a couple more were moving slowly.

I don't know what those are, so I can rightfully call them unidentified 'flying' objects. ;)

Hmm...I've also had a similar experience few months ago after long walk to home from downtown. I was feeling exasperated for some reasons and than i suddenly raised my eyes towards Cassiopaea; and wright at that moment a "6th star" showed itself on a position where it was forming a triangle - just for instant of second... Almost like a wink - a stellar one! I was instantly cheered up!

That's what I was thinking at first, a layer of clouds obscuring these weird stars, which were not moving as far as I know. But there were no clouds at all then, and the other stars around kept their lights untouched.
I was curious if anybody else saw them, as they were very noticeable.
It could be said they were Unidentified Staring Lights may be ;)

Once I saw a UFO with multi-colored lights moving quickly then slowly and erratically across the sky. And after a little while it came above me and a friend, stood still for a few seconds and disappeared very quickly...
