This is a 5 meter long painting from the 12th century (I think) that has been "flash-i-fied" with little vignettes where you can get the "feel" of the time and place. It's really lovely!

Quite beautiful! I love that you can also click on some of the city to see a small animation and a little bit more detail. My 3year old toddler just woke up and came and saw what I was looking at and he found it very entertaining ;)
 
That's quite beautiful if you ask me. I've always liked pictures like that.
Oddly getting quite a lot of deja-vu from looking at it....although that could be because my favourite books as a child had towns in profile like that (I think it was called Busy Town and described the workings of everything right down to sewers and plumbing all in profile like that)
 
What a lovely find! The scroll is a beautiful work of art, and I really like the way it has been brought to life in the animations. Thanks for that, Laura :)
