A confrontation in Moldova - are pro-Western forces preparing a political assassination of President Dodon?

Is Moldova the next Ukraine?
http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/10/is-moldova-next-ukraine.html

The Republic of Moldova (RM) is gaining momentum in terms of internal political opposition. On October 20, the Constitutional Court of Moldova authorized the appointment of the Minister of Defense, bypassing the country's President, Igor Dodon, who is also the Supreme Commander-in-Chief.

The decision was motivated by "Dodon's failure to fulfill his constitutional duties" when he twice rejected the candidacy of Yevgeny Sturza, proposed by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, as defense minister.

The decision of the Constitutional Court, humiliating in itself, is also clothed in a form humiliating for I.Dodon. The court stated that Dodon "is in a state of temporary inability to perform his duties" and authorized to delegate his powers to the chairman of parliament or prime minister. This passage contains a clear allusion to the president's mental inferiority. President Igor Dodon was elected (in November 2016) as a result of popular vote - so the judges of the Constitutional Court and the parliamentarians standing behind them from the anti-Donodian majority, question the mental worthiness of the entire Moldovan people.

On September 22, the deputies of the Moldovan parliament from the Liberal Party began collecting signatures for the impeachment bill of Igor Dodon. The leader of the Liberal Party, Mihai Ghimpu, noted that the bill was sent to all parliamentary factions, except for the faction of the Socialist Party.

Earlier Dodon, several times, came into conflict with pro-Romanian (pro-Western and pro-NATO) government and parliament, refusing to sign laws passed by the parliament and appoint ministers proposed by the prime minister.

The decisions of the Constitutional Court is yet another volley of an internal political war in the Republic of Moldova. The head of Moldova, Dodon, said that the state should stick to parliamentary rule and possibly hold early parliamentary elections. In this regard, he urged residents of the country to support his demands with actions. They expressed their readiness to take the side of Dodon, especially, in the opposition Socialist Party. This statement was made by the President of the Republic of Moldova on 19 October. It is hardly a coincidence that the scandalous decision of the Constitutional Court is literally the day after the announcement.

The conflict in Moldova develops simultaneously in two planes: internal political and geopolitical.

Post-Soviet Moldova, even more than Ukraine, has become a victim of the oligarchy. If in Ukraine the oligarchy participates in the governance of the state, in Moldova it directly governs the state. The optimal form of oligarchic governance of the Moldovan state is a parliamentary republic, under which the president has very limited powers.

Igor Dodon became president as a result of a popular vote and positions himself as the people's president. In this respect, his legitimacy as a democratically elected head of state does not compare with claims for legitimacy of a parliamentary majority formed by oligarchic clans. The well-known German political scientist Alexander Rahr beautifully described the essence of this confrontation: "In Moldova, all the levers of the country's governance are today in the hands of the oligarch Vladimir Plahotniuc (the richest man in Moldova, the chairman of the Democratic Party, who has a majority in the parliament of the RM). In addition, American advisors work in Moldova. According to their advice, the Moldovan elites are trying to represent the person whom the people elected, as a weakling. All this leads to the dismantling of democratic institutions. This is happening not only in Moldova, but also in the West. " The political scientist means, first of all, the confrontation in the US between the "deep state" and President Trump.

Alexander Rahr drew attention to the foreign policy aspect of the confrontation in the Republic of Moldova. Indeed, the value of the Moldovan prize increases many times due to this factor. Dodon came to power (almost sensationally defeating pro-Western candidate Maija Sandu). The voters in Moldova voted in accordance with the wishes of ordinary people and the national interests of the country - to restore partnership with Russia. The interests of the Moldovan quasi-elites are in the West. Namely: the complete absorption of Moldova by neighboring Romania, a member of NATO and the EU, and the occupation of the country by the NATO bloc.

Therefore, the struggle in Moldova promises to be serious, and, perhaps, hot. On the side of Dodon is the sympathy of the overwhelming majority of the people. On the side of his enemies - huge money and political and power support of the West (including the NATO bloc). Americans are very flexible in the principles of democracy. In the case of Igor Dodon, they turn a blind eye to the democratic nature of his election and support the parliamentary majority, which has an oligarchic source of power.

The decision of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova is an attempt to assassinate the popularity of the elected Moldovan President Dodon. Judges of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Moldova are trying to prevent the strengthening of his power.

Who will win in the confrontation: the people or the oligarchy? Supporters of the preservation of the independence of Moldova or its absorption by Romania and the occupation of NATO? The issue of resolving this internal political conflict can only be viewed in this simple level.

Saakashvili, who leads the Rukh Novikh Sil (Movement of New Forces) opposition movement, currently stays in a tent camp outside the Ukrainian parliament despite a ruling paving the way for his deportation from the country, TASS reported.

"I knew that it [his deportation] is possible, but, on the other hand, I returned [to Ukraine], because the people and Ukraine must be protected from the wheeler-dealers in power," Saakashvili announced on Tuesday evening in a NewsOne TV channel broadcast.

"That’s why we will gather tomorrow at 7 p.m.," Saakashvili continued.

Saakashivili is most known for launching a war against Russian citizens in South Ossetia in 2008 and then blaming Moscow for the outbreak of violence.

A passer-by who was wounded in Wednesday’s explosion in Ukraine’s capital Kiev has died in hospital, bringing the death toll to two, a spokesperson for the country’s Security Service (SBU) said.

“Investigators of the SBU Main Department in Kiev and the region probe the explosion in the capital, in which Ukrainian lawmaker Igor Mosiychuk and four other people were hurt. Two people are dead,” Elena Gitlyanskaya wrote on her Facebook page.

A criminal investigation has been launched into “setting up a terror group or a terror organization.”

The investigators have found that unknown persons had planted a bomb in a parked motorcycle, which was detonated when lawmaker Mosiychuk and his bodyguards were passing by.

According to the Kiev prosecutors, the explosion occurred near a TV studio Espreso, where Mosiychuk, a lawmaker of the Radical Party, had taken part in a program.

One man was killed and four others injured in a blast in central Kiev, according to Ukraine's Interior Ministry. An MP and his driver are among the victims of the explosion, which is being treated by investigators as an “act of terrorism.”

Ukrainian MP Igor Mosiychuk was injured in the explosion near the TV Espresso HQ in Kiev, according to the TV station and the MP’s press service.
He, along with four other victims were rushed to hospital where the politician was immediately taken into surgery.

"The surgery was successfully completed. Doctors assess the condition of Igor Mosiychuk as having average severity," Mosiychuk's press service said on Facebook.

According to an interior ministry Facebook post, one of the five injured people died in an ambulance on the way to hospital.

The interior minister’s advisor, Zoryan Shkiryak, said political analyst Vitaliy Byala was also injured in the blast. The man who died in hospital was a bodyguard and aide to Mosiychuk, fellow MP Dmitri Linko said. on Facebook. While the explosion was described by some officials as a “car blast,”
photos from the scene suggest that it was a motorcycle parked near the car which blew up.

Mosiychuk, a notorious Ukrainian politician with long standing and strong ties to the Ukrainian neo-Nazi movement has openly expressed his extreme-right views. While being a local MP in the Kiev region, he was suspected of conspiring to plant a bomb on a monument of Vladimir Lenin in 2011. The politician met the Maidan events of early 2014 in detention and was sentenced to 6 years in prison over the preparation of the terrorist act.

Following the Euromaidan demonstrations and subsequent government coup, Mosiychuk was released by the newly appointed Kiev officials and cleared of all charges as a “political prisoner.” Upon his release, Mosiychuk took an active part in the unrest in eastern Ukraine, becoming a deputy commander of the notorious Azov paramilitary battalion. The militant group is well known for following Nazi ideology and has been condemned by the UN and Amnesty International.

Mosiychuk also threatened to dispatch neo-Nazi militants to Crimea in an effort to scupper the independence referendum there.

The current Ukrainian government is rapidly losing its supporters and the number of dissatisfied citizens is growing.

Poll: 79% Ukrainians do not support Poroshenko
http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/10/poll-79-ukrainians-do-not-support.html

This was stated at a press conference in Kiev, said the head of sociological programs of the Center for Sociological Studies "Sofia" Alexander Levtsun.

The increase in prices by 20%, the growth of utility tariffs and unpopular laws passed by the authorities are the reason for the growth of dissatisfied citizens. The overwhelming majority, namely 79% of respondents to some extent do not approve the work of Peter Poroshenko as president of Ukraine.

Simultaneously, the number of respondents who fully approve or rather approve of the president's activities has decreased - from 21.5% to 13.2%. From September to October, we see a significant reduction in positive assessments of the president's activities, said the sociologist.

He also noted that the evaluation of the work and the Prime Minister has worsened.

"77% of respondents categorically disapprove or disapprove of the work of Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman. In September, the analogous parameter was 74.2%. The share of positive assessments of the head of government also declined from 20.8% in September to 14.8% this month," Levtsun added.

Ukrainian servicemen opened mortar fire on an observation post of the Joint Control and Coordination Center (JCCC) in southern Donbass, officers from Russia, Ukraine and the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) are in a hideout, according to the DPR's mission in the JCCC.

The mission reported that "shelling of the Bezymennoye observation post started at 15:25 on October 27, twenty-five 82-millimeter mortar shells were fired and the fire was being delivered from the direction of Shirokino [controlled by Kiev]."

According to the reports, the shelling is continuing and the information about the damage is being verified.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that among other things he discussed with Germany’s visiting President Frank Walter Steinmeier the situation in Ukraine.

Putin discusses ability of UN peacekeepers deployment to Donbass
http://nrt24.ru/en/news/putin-discusses-ability-un-peacekeepers-deployment-donbass

"We touched upon the state of affairs in Ukraine," Putin said after the talks. "Mr. President and I stated once again that strict compliance with the Minsk Accords should be the basis of a lasting and comprehensive settlement in southeastern Ukraine. In this context we discussed Russia’s initiative for creating a UN mission in Ukraine to ensure the safety of OSCE monitors in the zone of the conflict."

The Russian president noted that Steinmeier was well-informed about the Ukraine settlement.

"Being [Germany’s] foreign minister, he [Steinmeier] offered some solutions which are directly linked to his name," Putin said. "I hope they will be implemented in the future work."

In 2015, in a bid to find a way out of the deadlock when Kiev was blocking a law granting special status to Donbass, which is envisaged by the Minsk agreements, former German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier suggested a special procedure of its enforcement.

Thus, special status should be granted to this region of Ukraine first on a temporary basis on the day of local elections there. Special status will be granted permanently after the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) publishes a report confirming the legitimacy of election results. The idea, known as the ‘Steinmeier formula’, was approved at by Normandy Four (Russia, Germany, France and Ukraine) meeting in Paris on October 2, 2015.

Mosiychuk Assassination Attempt: Poroshenko's Terror vs. the Nazi Maidan
http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/10/mosiychuk-assassination-attempt.html

On October 25th, the Ukrainian Radical Party’s Verkhovna Rada deputy Igor Mosiychuk was wounded in an explosion in Kiev. Two other people were killed in the incident, including a security officer, and another three were wounded.

The leader of Ukraine's Radical Party, Oleg Lyashko, believes that this assassination attempt was connected to the professional activities and political position of his party comrade. In other words, Lyashko hinted that the government could be involved in the attack on this parliamentarian who is known for his hostility towards President Poroshenko and his close ties to the Nazis that are currently protesting in front of parliament.

Mosiychuk, let us remind the reader, was deputy commander of the Azov Battalion and one of the leaders of both the Patriot of Ukraine organization and the Social National Assembly, all of which are openly Nazi organizations.

The adviser to Interior Minister Avakov, Anton Gerashchenko, has commented on the incident in the usual Ukrainian bureaucratic manner, saying that the attempt on Mosiychuk’s life was the work of Russian special forces. In an interview with Radio Sputnik yesterday, I pointed out the complete absurdity of such accusations. Russia is not interested in assassinating Mosiychuk or any other of these Nazis. In my opinion, in Russia’s interests is organizing a future open trial for Ukrainian Nazis, and any individual terrorist attacks prevent the organizing of such a Nuremberg 2.0 for the former Ukraine.

On the other hand, it is the Ukrainian government that is interested in Mosiychuk being killed and other key Ukrainian Nazi organizations being pacified. Since 2014, I have consistently predicted another Maidan to be held under openly Nazi slogans and leading to the overthrow of the Jewish oligarchs led by Petro Poroshenko who seized power in Ukraine. Ukrainian Nazis are the most consistent and terrifying enemies of the Poroshenko regime, which they call an “internal occupation regime.”

We are now seeing a rehearsal for such a Nazi Maidan. Apparently, Poroshenko is taking a serious turn, and now terrorist methods are being used against the regime’s mortal enemies.

Just a few days ago, the SBU warned of an assassination attempt on Poroshenko in Avdeevka. Ukraine’s Prosecutor General, Yuri Lutsenko (the godfather of President Poroshenko), has also proclaimed that Saakshvili’s supporters are organizing an armed coup against the government.

I believe that such claims are not true. Saakashvili has few coercive resources (not counting the Georgian militants in pro-Nazi volunteer battalions) at his disposal. On the other hand, the Ukrainian Nazis boast more than enough of such resources, and are at the current moment conditional allies of Saakashvili. Saakashvili himself, in turn, has ridiculed these accusations and responded with the allegation that three of his supporters have disappeared.

I see the assassination attempt on Mosiychuk as the initial phase of an escalation of the conflict between the Nazis and Jewish oligarchs headed by President Poroshenko, an escalation which is transitioning from a political to a "hot", or armed phase. Ironically enough, it is the Jewish oligarch Kolomoysky who is financing the operations of such Nazi revolutionaries. Indeed, all of the “Ukrainian revolutions,” as is well known, have been done with Jewish money and through the hands of Ukrainian Nazis. By all accounts, Mosiychuk himself is one of the key figures behind preparing a Nazi coup d’etat.

But, of course, the Poroshenko regime cannot admit this fact, so it has voiced more absurd accusations against Russia. The Nazi scene in Ukraine does not believe in this conspiracy and instead is openly accusing the Poroshenko regime of organizing massacres of their comrades-in-arms.

Thus, under the cover of Saakashvili’s somewhat rhetorical Maidan and his comfortable position is brewing another, far from only rhetorical Nazi Maidan. Following the coup d’etat in Kiev on February 21st, 2014, I repeatedly said and wrote that the next leader of Ukraine would be the Azov “Fuhrer” Biletsky, to whose aid would come his “brethren” from the Anti-Terrorist Operation Zone’s volunteer groups. The situation is now unfolding in Biletsky’s favor. Several hundred determined people with military experience are quite capable of overthrowing the government.

But holding on to power after a coup and justifying its legitimacy is a much more difficult affair. To do so, Biletsky needs to seek broader social support and rely on the protesting electorate that is keenly dissatisfied with skyrocketing prices and declining living standards across Ukraine. Hence why Biletsky and and his National Corps Party are patronizing trade unions and other protest organizations.

The assassination attempt on Mosiychuk is thus one instance in the larger, unfolding story of the impending Nazi Maidan.

The military conflict in Eastern Ukraine has shed light on the conditions in the country's military, with thousands of troops getting killed or injured due to violations of military regulations and negligence.

Ukrainian Army's Non-Battle Casualties Exceeded 10,000 Since 2014 - Prosecutor
https://sputniknews.com/europe/201710281058623296-ukrainian-army-casualties-10000/

A total of 10,103 Ukrainian military personnel were killed or injured due for non-combat reasons since the breakout of hostilities in the country in 2014, the country's Chief Military Prosecutor Anatolii Matios said Saturday.

In an interview with the ZIK broadcaster, Matios said that the manpower was lost due to "irrecoverable and medical losses, which means not because of the war." He pointed out that servicemen's violations of military regulations and negligence cause the casualties.

The Chief Military Prosecutor of Ukraine, Anatoly Matios, has spoken of the colossal non-combat losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Lack of care: Colossal non-combat deaths in the Ukrainian army
http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/10/lack-of-care-colossal-non-combat-deaths.html

"From 2014 until today, 10,103 people were lost in the armed forces, among all those who received weapons and defended the state - but these are only sanitary losses and not in combat" - said Matios.

The Ukrainian prosecutor said that negligent attitude of the care sector was the cause of such colossal losses.

A group of activists calling themselves the 'Ruk Vyzvolennya' ('Movement for Liberation') blocked the entrances to President Petro Poroshenko's Roshen factories in the cities of Vinnitsa and Yahotyn on Saturday night, demanding that the leader make a choice: his duties as president or his business interests.

Down With the Chocolate King: Activists Blockade Poroshenko's Candy Plants
https://sputniknews.com/europe/201710291058636510-protesters-poroshenko-candy-factories/

A small group of activists went to Vinnitsa, a city about 200 km southwest of Kiev, to demand an end to the "lawlessness, thievery and deception." A separate group of protesters, including local residents, gathered in the town of Yahotyn at a Roshen logistics center.

The president must choose, either engage in the business of government, or his own business," a statement on the movement's Facebook group reads.

Post reads: "Activists from the Ruk Vyzvolennya and local residents block the road to the Roshen logistics center near the town of Yagotin, Kiev region."

Protesters urged their countrymen to boycott all goods and services produced by Poroshenko's enterprises, including "all 104 companies declared in his tax declaration." Poroshenko, one of Ukraine's richest men, has donned the nickname 'Chocolate King' for his Roshen confectionary empire, but also has holdings in heavy manufacturing, the arms industry, agriculture, and banking. He also owns the Channel 5 TV network.

Ukrainian business newspaper Novoye Vremya recently rated Poroshenko as one of Ukraine's top five richest figures in 2017, with an estimated fortune of about $1 billion. Ahead of the 2014 presidential election, he promised to put his business dealings on hold, and to sell off Roshen. He later reneged on that promised. Novoye Vremya rankings in the last three years have shown him steadily climbing in the ranks, from 9th place in 2014 to 6th in 2015 to 5th in 2017.

The Ukrainian media outlet dubbed Apostrophe has reported that Lt. Gen. Ihor Romanenko said that Russia was preparing the submarines of its Black Sea Fleet to use them against Ukraine.

Ukraine's Statements About Threat Posed by Russian Subs Groundless - Lawmaker
https://sputniknews.com/russia/201710291058636316-russia-ukraine-submarines/

There is absolutely no cause [for such statements]… [The Ukrainian Navy] does not even have enough resources or the capability to even sail the seas. Everything they have is just a poor Soviet legacy from the 1960s and 1970s. It is incompetent and even ridiculous to say that Russia would use submarines against them," Shamanov said.

The Russian official added that Ukraine's Armed Forces had poor combat capabilities, citing the Ukrainian Defense Minister, who had recently reported about significant non-combat losses of the Ukrainian army due to illnesses, alcohol, and the violation of security measures.

The Russian Black Sea Fleet has six Project 636.3 submarines: the Novorossiysk, Rostov-on-Don, Stary Oskol, Krasnodar, Veliky Novgorod, and Kolpino. In early October, training launches of Caliber cruise missiles from submarines in the Black Sea were conducted, they became the first in the history of the Russian Black Sea Fleet.

Relations between Moscow and Kiev have soured since the start of the Maidan junta-related events in Ukraine in early 2014. Since then, Kiev has repeatedly accused Moscow of alleged involvement in the unfolding crisis in Ukraine.

Another visitor of the club with the social media nickname Pretty Polly shared her impression of the work of Ukrainian law enforcement.

"I stood with my hands raised in surrender, as if I'm damned Bin Laden. I heard behind me from time to time "Lojis, Suka!" (Lie down, b*tch.) Needless to say, the guys who were addressed fell to the floor and behaved adequately. The police practiced all their power, using both their legs and truncheons." - she wrote on Facebook.

In turn, the police in Kiev named the exact figure delivered to the military enlistment office of young people; "32 were identified who evaded conscription. Ten were taken to the collection point for conscripts. " - stated the press service of the police.

A coup d’etat is unfolding in Moldova.

Coup d'etat in Moldova: Will War Rage on the Dniester?
http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/10/coup-detat-in-moldova-will-war-rage-on.html

On October 24th, Speaker of Parliament Adrian Candu assumed the function of President, and the republic’s Constitutional Court resolved to temporarily suspend Igor Dodon’s presidential authorities and duties. This all happened following the head of state’s refusal to appoint parliament-recommended Yevgeny Sturza as defense minister.

According to the Constitution of Moldova, the President is the Commander-in-Chief. Igor Dodon’s rejection of Sturza’s candidacy was due to the fact that the latter is a civilian. The Commander-in-Chief wanted a military professional in this important position. There is also the unofficial explanation which, according to parliamentary deputy Bodgan Thirdi, says Soros-tied structures are behind Struza’s candidacy, as the latter received around $4,200 monthly from them back in 2013-2014.

The conflict between Dodon and parliament is ongoing on two planes. The first is the domestic political field. The Moldovan parliament is controlled by the wealthiest oligarch in the country, Plahotniuc. The omnipotent oligarchy is opposed by the people’s president, Dodon. Dodon’s convincing victory in presidential elections against the parliamentary majority’s candidate, Sandu, was a heavy blow to the oligarch party.

The second plane is the foreign policy one. The parliamentary majority and the Moldovan political class overall feature a pro-Romanian (unionist) majority. According to the notion of unionism, Moldova is part of Romania, and Moldovans are denied the right to call themselves a separate people. The majority of Moldovans actually believe otherwise, but their voice has not been heard loud enough.

Neighboring Romania, a member of both the EU and NATO, is working in support of the unionists in Moldova. In strategic terms, unionism means a pro-Western course for Moldova and incorporating the country into the NATO bloc. The Constitutional Court of Moldova is, without a doubt, a part of the unionist establishment. Five out of its six members even have Romanian citizenship, which is in itself legally nonsensical. It would be impossible to imagine any Moldovan politicians being allowed to occupy official positions while having Russian citizenship.

On the other hand, it is incorrect to label Dodon as a pro-Russian president, although he and his constituents (the majority of the Moldovan population) do advocate restoring good-neighborly relations with Russia. Rather, Igor Dodon is a pro-Moldovan politician. He is for upholding Moldovan sovereignty and maintaining an independent status for the Moldovan language. This objectively means collision with NATO and the EU.

At the same time, he has also made progress on the ever-older conflict with the unrecognized Transnistrian Moldavian Republic. Meanwhile, in Romania, the popular position is that the territory of the former Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic should be divided - Romania will take Moldova and Russia can have Transnistria. I will refrain from offering my own opinion on this matter; I will merely say that this is contrary to Moldova’s national interests. It is advisable to agree on a mutually acceptable form of relations with the left bank of the Dniester which can take into account the cultural, linguistic, and foreign policy wishes of the population of the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic.

Any actual removal of Igor Dodon from power would threaten both the citizens of Moldova, who will be absorbed by Romania and NATO, and the people of Transnistria, for whom the risk of a resumed war only heightens under such circumstances. As things stand, NATO and Ukrainian troops are already holding joint military exercises near Transnistria’s borders, and both NATO and Ukraine are interested in involving Russia in a new war far from its borders.

Russian peacekeepers are, after all, still stationed in the Transnistrian Moldavian Republic. A seizure of Transnistria and the death of Russian peacekeepers is impermissible. To a certain extent, such would mean a repeat of the situation in South Ossetia when, as a result of a Georgian attack, 15 Russian peacekeepers were killed, thus setting the stage for Russia to go to war against Georgia and its Western allies.

Hence why the issue of Igor Dodon being deprived of presidential authority is significant beyond domestic Moldovan politics. On resolving this issue depends not only peace on the Dniester, but also the fate of Russia, Ukraine, and Romania. Igor Dodon himself has not recognized the resolution of the pro-Romanian Constitutional Court, and has said that only the people have the right to remove him from power. Thus, the conflict in Moldova is far from over. We will continue to monitor further developments.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have rotated the personnel of the 58th brigade because of the unwillingness of servicemen to take part in the so-called "Anti-Terrorist Operation", the contact line with Donbass militia points.

Ukrainian troops abandon positions due to hunger

This was announced today at the briefing by the official representative of the People's Militia of the People's Republic of Lugansk, Lieutenant Colonel Andrei Marochko.

"According to our intelligence, in some areas, the armed forces are systematically abandoning their positions. This is due to the lack of adequate food security and the unwillingness of servicemen to continue participating in hostilities on the side of the government that betrays them," Marachko said.

"There has been an unauthorized abandonment of the temporary deployment point in the Krimskoe settlement, by servicemen of the 15th battalion of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade," he said.

"The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in connection with the low morale and psychological state of the personnel of the 58th brigade, decided to rotate it from the o called anti-terrorist operation zone," Marachko said.

This was announced today at a briefing in Lugansk by Lieutenant-Colonel Andrei Marochko, the official representative of the People's Militia of the Lugansk Peoples Republic.

"According to our intelligence, in some areas, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are systematically abandoning their advanced positions, which is connected with the lack of adequate food provision, and the reluctance of servicemen to continue participating in hostilities for the government that betrayed them," he said.

"So, the fact of the unauthorized abandonment of their current deployment point at the Crimean village by servicemen of the 15th battalion of the 58th separate motorized infantry brigade, has leaked out," the Defense Ministry spokesman added.

"The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, because of the low morale and psychological state of the personnel of the 58th Brigade, and the reluctance of the servicemen of this unit to take part in the ATO, have decided to rotate this brigade out of the area of the anti-people operation," Marachko said.

We recall that yesterday Andrei Marochko said that the People's Militia welcomed the decision of the commanders of the Ukrainian Armed Forces not to carry out the criminal orders of Kiev.

One of the organizers of the "third Maidan", Verkhovna Rada deputy Semyon Semenchenko, said that representatives of Ukrainian authorities are leaving Kiev.

"The Prime Minister, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Chairman of the National Security and Defense Council have left Kiev," he said.

"Everyone wants to be outside of Kiev or Ukraine at a dangerous time and not hold any responsibility to a possible dissolution of the government", - added Semenchenko.

According to the ex-commander of the Ukro-nationalist battalion "Donbass", "the veterans of the war for independence have united in the movement for the liberation of Ukraine from oligarchs and traitors."

"They are acting. In response to Petro Poroshenko's blocking of the most important initiatives to clean up the power structures and fight corruption, veterans announced the beginning of a blockade of the earnings of the supreme commander-in-chief. It's not just Roshen, it's about 100 other enterprises all over the country," the deputy stressed.

WASHINGTON D.C, US. The United States has put on pause the question of providing Ukraine with lethal weapons, writes The Washington Post.

Unexpected: US halts provision of lethal weapons to Ukraine
http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/10/unexpected-us-halts-provision-of-lethal.html

The article notes, in particular, that after several months of negotiations and consultations, the administration of President Donald Trump has so far denied Kiev what it needs to repel "Russian aggression."

"This increases doubts about the willingness of the American president to oppose his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin," the material underlines.

The publication reminds that the Obama administration was similarly concerned that the increase in military aid for Ukraine would slow down the diplomatic progress and could aggravate the crisis.

The new Maidan, or the war for Donbass will begin on 7 November - Opinion
http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/11/the-new-maidan-or-war-for-donbass-will.html

Public discussion of the unplanned visit of US Special Representative for Ukraine Kurt Volker, on October 27, fails to answer one simple question: why did he come at short notice? The answer suggests there was some urgent matter.

It should be noted that Kurt Volker paid a visit to Kiev almost immediately after Vladimir Putin's speech in Sochi at the Valdai Club, where he made, it can be said, a policy statement on Ukraine and the Donbass. Putin said that "Russia needs a friendly Ukraine," and Russia will not allow the introduction of Nazi formations to the Donbass, massacres in the Donbass; responsibility for what is happening lies on Europe: "Today's situation is the result of unconstitutional armed seizure of power in Ukraine, and Europe is to blame for this, because it supported this terror" said Putin.

That is, indirectly, Putin called the Kiev authorities terrorists. He did not mention the USA at all.

Volker made the direct opposite of Putin's statements, on all points. He declared that "Ukraine has become more cohesive, more nationalistic, more anti-Russian, more Western-oriented than ever," and blames this on Russia, which "committed aggression and occupies the Donbass," but the peacekeeping operation must restore integrity. That is, it must give the Donbass over to the tyranny of the Bandera Nazis. Volker fully supported the "war party" in the Verkhovna Rada.

It seems that Volker immediately flew to Kiev to make anti-Putin and anti-Russian attacks. This means that the earlier Volker - Surkov summit ended in complete failure, its continuation and the necessity itself - is under a big question.

Volker pursues the policy of his former patron John McCain on "global deterrence of Russia" by fomenting a war in the Donbass: this "peacemaker" never tires of repeating the need to supply arms to Ukraine, in parallel with demagoguery about the peacekeeping mission in the Donbass. Contrast once again, that Putin does not mention the role of Europe in this mission at all.

Volker, in the company of McCain, somehow needs a war in the Donbass before the New Year. Is it a strike against the upcoming presidential elections in Russia?

After all, when talking about arms shipments to Ukraine, Volker does not bluff: Washington has already prepared a package of documents for the supply of arms to the Bandera regime, it only remains to receive the signature of President Donald Trump. For the president to sign it, McCain and Volker need an appropriate pretext, which can be the resumption of the war in the Donbass.

If the Ukrainian army exacerbates the situation in the Donbass, and it can only be done by some serious offensive operation - McCain and Congress will be able to press on Trump, and he will sign a package of documents on arms supplies, "in view of Moscow's resurgent aggression."

World fake media will prove this by their lies, an anti-Russian campaign in the US will accept it as truth without evidence. Trump will find it difficult not to sign this anti-Russian package of documents, considering the pressure he is under.

Thus, Volker will fulfill McCain's long-standing desire to supply arms to Ukraine and resume the war in the Donbass.

It can be assumed that Volker proposed Poroshenko with simple options: either he resumes the war in the Donbass and receives a "defensive weapon",
or his agent Saakashvili will begin the long-announced operation to remove Poroshenko.

Saakashvili, at the same time as Volker's visit, said "On November 7, I give them the last time they (the authorities) get a chance to accept our demands. We can not stand here forever." (November 7 is the first sessional day of the Verkhovna Rada.) The right-wing militant Sivoy was more specific: "We are starting a war against Poroshenko, together with former participants of the anti-terrorist operation - against all the anti-Ukrainian authorities. Everything will be burned or blocked. "

Here, Bandera-ideology-loving political scientists speak about the absurdity of this 'Maidan' of 200 militants. However, commander-in-chief Poroshenko can not simply ignore it. Because this is not a Maidan, but rather a special operation.

Sivoy could simply carry weapons directly to the Verkhovna Rada, together with the reinforcement of the militants.

Saakashvili is only the visible part of the special operation against Poroshenko, and the fact that he can not do anything with a handful of militants speaks about the possibilities of the putschists behind them. The chief of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, coincidentally, lead Saakashvili from the border to the Verkhovna Rada along with the nationalist battalion "Donbass", and now has got rid of the original police cordon around government buildings.

The closest associate of Avakov, Turchynov, urged Poroshenko to issue a decree on bringing the Ukrainian Army back to the Donbasss. Behind them are Tymoshenko, Sadovaya, Nalyvaichenko, Nayem and Lutsenko, and the oligarch Kolomoisky - all of them support Saakashvili but retreat into the shadows. They are allowing Poroshenko the opportunity to make the right decision.

Actually, this is the leadership of the new putsch, ready to break off the leash on the orders of Kurt Volker. These people can take and hold power, and express claims for legitimacy, and start a war in the Donbass. Turchinov openly asks again for the role of acting president of Ukraine.

In fact, the date for the launch of the putsch has already been fixed, it was announced by Saakashvili on November 7 - or Poroshenko will start the war on Donbass by November 7. Then the Saakashvili Maidan by the Rada and the putsch lose their relevance, for a time.

In any case, for Poroshenko there is to be either a war in the Donbass, or in Kiev, and not a mythical peacekeeping operation.

The OSCE has announced the other day that "an escalation in the Donbass is inevitable." But will it result in an offensive operation of the Ukrainian army? Chief of the General Staff, Viktor Muzhenko told the public of heavy losses, right up to his resignation.

Turchinov prudently offered to remove Muzhenko from his post for the recent explosions of military depots in Kalinovka. So the behavior of the Ukrainian army is difficult to forecast, just like the reciprocated answer of the Armed Forces of Novorossia.

Certainly one can say that Poroshenko has been presented an ultimatum. We will not need to wait long to understand the direction he will choose.

Lavrov quick to respond to Volker's anti-Donbass drivel
http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/10/lavrov-quick-to-respond-to-volkers-anti.html

The mandate of the UN peacekeepers mission to Donbass should be an 'occupation' of sorts, said Kurt Volker, the US Department special envoy to Ukraine. This was announced today at a meeting with representatives of European business in Moscow, by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"He said that it is necessary for peacekeepers to occupy the entire Donbass and encircle it - he used another word, but the meaning is the same. And only then the United States will support Poroshenko's actions to fulfill all his obligations, including amnesty, giving special status and holding elections.

It is absolutely clear to us that as soon as 'peacekeeping' forces occupy the entire Donbass, Poroshenko will not lift a finger to do anything," Lavrov said. He also called Volker's statement about the non-admission of LPR representatives to negotiations inadequate.

"Volker said that this is the business of Europe, Ukraine and Russia. The Donbass cannot be allowed in any negotiations. If this is considered an adequate answer, I deeply regret that," Lavrov said.

The State Migration Service of Ukraine has denied Mikhail Saakashvili, the ex-head of the Odessa Regional State Administration, recognition as a refugee.

Tie-eater chronicles: Ukraine officially denies Saakashvili refugee status
http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/11/tie-eater-chronicles-ukraine-officially.html

Guided by Part 8 of Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine "On Refugees and Persons in Need of Additional or Temporary Protection", they refused to recognize Saakashvili as a refugee or a person in need of additional protection.

According to Art. 8 of the Law of Ukraine "On Refugees and Persons in Need of Additional or Temporary Protection" we inform you that, Saakashvili Mikhail Nikolozovich, has been refused registration of documents for resolving the issue of recognition as a refugee or a person in need of additional protection in connection with the obvious unreasonableness of the application.

Precisely because of the lack of justified fears of becoming a victim of persecution on grounds of race, religion, nationality, citizenship (citizenship), membership in a particular social group or political opinion and the lack of proof of the threat to life, security or freedom, " the Ministry said.

Saakashvili is a stateless person. In 1991 he gave up his original Soviet citizenship and obtained native Georgian citizenship. In 2015, after a scandalous political career as Georgia's president, and following a warrant issued out for his arrest, Georgian citizenship was revoked. Between 2015 and 2017, under the helpful guidance of friend and colleague Senator John McCain, Saakashvili was granted Ukrainian citizenship, when he became Governor for the Odessa region. For no reason whatsoever and no ties to the Ukraine.

After a series of disagreements with the Ukrainian government, his Ukrainian citizenship was also revoked. Saakashvili is technically a 'presidential candidate' without a legal basis for being in the country at all. Only in Ukraine!

KIEV, Ukraine. A well-known Kiev TV journalist, Vyacheslav Pihovshek, in protest against language restrictions introduced by the authorities, broadcasted his latest programme episode in the Russian language.

Famous Ukrainian TV host switches to Russian language (Video)

http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/11/famous-ukrainian-tv-host-switches-to.html (1:30 min.)

Pihovshek explained his actions - stating that he "fully proved his loyalty to the state language of Ukraine", having worked on television since 1995, exclusively in Ukrainian. At the same time, he noted that the transition to the Russian language "was largely spontaneous."

"It was the emotional reaction of a healthy person, who was being prescribed what to do. To me as a journalist, being forcefully told in what language to go on the air was unjust. "

According to the journalist, totalitarianism arises there, "where your will is not yours but imposed." This is a courageous act, in context of a number of media personalities that have been killed over the recent years who stood up for the Russian language in Ukraine, or for Russia in general.

During the Euromaidan in 2014, the Ukrainian authorities had a plan of dealing with discontent in Crimea - and not by democratic means. This was stated by the ex-chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuri Ilyin.

Maidan plan gone wrong: Did Putin save Crimea from "drowning in blood"?
http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/11/maidan-plan-gone-wrong-did-putin-save.html

According to Ilyin, in the winter of 2014 events with the Maidan in Kiev caused discontent among Crimeans. The Ukrainian authorities did not see a reason to resolve this issue by dialogue. They had another plan - "drown Crimea in blood."

Thus, the mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klichko, stated that with the Crimea "they will get tougher than with the Ukrainian capital," and the head of the party "Svoboda", Oleg Tyagnibok, declared that he would "break the Crimean people like a broom and the Crimeans will wash themselves with blood."

According to Ilyin, Ukraine's Defense Minister, Igor Tenyukh, did not have the confidence to undertake any attempts to end the unrest on the peninsula, when Crimeans started talking about reunification with Russia. General Vladimir Zaman, with permission from acting President Alexander Turchinov, then lowered the degree of readiness of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from full to constant.

It is also widely acknowledged, whether in Crimea or the Donbass, the first stages of the conflict saw outright disagreement between the Ukrainian Army and the Kiev Junta. Even where commands were carried out in theory, intentional misfiring was not uncommon.

Vinogradnoe, Crimea. The National Anti-terror Committee (NAC) announced a likely terrorist attack in the gasline event in the Crime

Explosion interrupts gas, electricity in Crimea. Investigated as act of sabotage November 1, 2017
http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/11/explosion-interrupts-gas-electricity-in.html

The pipeline was damaged. A reconstruction of the explosive event is being worked out. This is reported by the National Antiterrorist Committee (NAC).

The emergency occurred on October 31 at about 20:00 at the gas distribution station located near the village of Vinogradnoe in the Alushta area. According to the NAC, a gas pressure drop was recorded, and at the same time, the supply of electricity went off due to the collapse of the transmission line support.

"When inspecting the scene, experts discovered external damage to the gas pipeline," the report said.

On-site emergency services are at work, and all possible explanations are being chased down, including sabotage, notes the NAC. Repairs should be concluded by day's end.

We note in the background that on August 15, the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation prevented a series of sabotage in the Crimea, prepared by Ukraine. Gennady Limeshko, agent of the SBU (Security Service of Ukraine) was detained. He has confessed.

Vinogradnoe. The FSB opened three criminal cases related to the damage to gas pipelines and power lines in the Crimea, the press service of the regional department of the ministry said.

The head of Poroshenko political party in Donbass has been murdered November 5 , 2017
http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/11/the-head-of-poroshenko-political-party.html

SEVERODONETSK, Ukraine. On the night of November 3, in the Kiev-occupied region of Donbass, Severodonetsk, the head of the "Petro Poroshenko Bloc - Solidarity party" for the region, Sergei Samarsky, was killed.

The Head of the occupying "Lugansk Regional State Administration" (based in Severodonetsk, and is a parallel structure to the pro-Russian Lugansk Administration ) Yuri Garbuz, confirmed the information about the murder of Poroshenko's associate.

"The head of the faction of the Solidarity Party of the Severodonetsk City Council, public figure Sergei Samarsky, has been killed. Urgent investigative actions are continuing," wrote Garbuz on his social network page.

"Deputy Mayor" of Severodonetsk, Grigory Priegeb, offered condolences on his social media page, outraged by the "beastly" murder.

"At 01:30, we were made aware of the murder of Sergei Samarsky. Until 04:00 we worked with the investigator, on who could have ordered this?"

According to local media, the body of Samarsky was found around one in the morning. The search began after a statement by Samarsky's wife, who could not reach him by phone. At the same time it is known that he called his wife at about 6:00 pm, leaving the premises of the city council.

On the body, signs of a violent death are visible, including injuries to the skull. A number of Ukrainian media have reported that Samarsky was killed by a blow to the head with a brick. The investigation is continuing.

Russian annexation of Crimea

Starting on 26 February 2014, pro-Russian armed men gradually began to take over the peninsula, provoking protests.[5] Russia initially said that these uniformed militants, termed "little green men" in Ukraine, were "local self-defence forces".[6] However, they later admitted that these were in fact Russian soldiers without insignias, confirming on-the-ground reports of a Russian incursion into Ukraine.[7][8][9][10][11][12][13] By 27 February, the Crimean parliament building had been seized by Russian forces. Russian flags were raised over these buildings, and a self-declared pro-Russian government said that it would hold a referendum on independence from Ukraine.[14] Following that internationally unrecognised referendum, which was held on 16 March 2014, Russia annexed Crimea on 18 March 2014.

War in Donbass

From the beginning of March 2014, demonstrations by pro-Russian and anti-government groups took place in the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts of Ukraine, together commonly called the "Donbass", in the aftermath of the 2014 Ukrainian revolution and the Euromaidan movement. These demonstrations, which followed the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, and which were part of a wider group of concurrent pro-Russian protests across southern and eastern Ukraine, escalated into an armed conflict between the separatist forces of the self-declared Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR respectively), and the Ukrainian government.[15][16] Prior to a change of the top leadership in August 2014,[17] the separatists were largely led by Russian citizens.[18] Russian paramilitaries are reported to make up from 15% to 80% of the combatants.[18][19][20][21][22]

Between 22 and 25 August 2014, Russian artillery, personnel, and what Russia called a "humanitarian convoy" were reported to have crossed the border into Ukrainian territory without the permission of the Ukrainian government. Crossings were reported to have occurred both in areas under the control of pro-Russian forces and areas that were not under their control, such as the south-eastern part of Donetsk Oblast, near Novoazovsk. These events followed the reported shelling of Ukrainian positions from the Russian side of the border over the course of the preceding month.[23][24][25][26][27] Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Valentyn Nalyvaichenko said that the events of 22 August were a "direct invasion by Russia of Ukraine".[28] Western and Ukrainian officials described these events as a "stealth invasion" of Ukraine by Russia.[27] As a result of this, DPR and LPR insurgents regained much of the territory they had lost during the preceding government military offensive. A deal to establish a ceasefire, called the Minsk Protocol, was signed on 5 September 2014.[29] Violations of the ceasefire were common. Amidst the solidification of the line between insurgent and Ukrainian territory during the ceasefire, warlords took control of swathes of land on the insurgent side, leading to further destabilisation.[30] The ceasefire completely collapsed in January 2015. Heavy fighting resumed across the conflict zone, including at Donetsk International Airport and Debaltseve.[31] A new ceasefire agreement, called Minsk II, was signed on 12 February 2015.[32]

I often find, where Politics are concerned, Wikipedia often offers a bias slant like you mentioned above. It's like - instead of rewriting History, they just side with "who ever" is in power or controlling the narrative? That's why, I think it's important - not to rely on just one source of information but to gather as much information as possible, from a variety of different sources.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday that Washington is responsible for the Ukrainian regime tolerating neo-Nazis and for the erratic behavior of Kiev's authorities. "It will hardly surprise anyone," he said.

Lavrov: US is responsible for neo-Nazism taking hold with the Ukrainian regime
http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/11/lavrov-us-is-responsible-for-neo-nazism.html

"The United States bears a special responsibility for the Kiev authorities’ behavior, since Washington has been in fact manually controlling them,"
the Russian top diplomat added.

"First of all, they should demand that the Kiev authorities show respect for the rules of civilized behavior and put an end to the atrocities carried out by the neo-Nazi scum, who try to run things in the country and impose their will," Lavrov added.

He then also highlighted that both the EU and NATO "have been actively courting the current Ukrainian regime" and that they should "think about the Ukrainian regime’s readiness to accept the European values."

In a statement made yesterday, while the head of the People's Republic of Donetsk (DPR), Alexander Zakharchenko, had gone to the scene bombed the by the Ukrainian army the night before, the head of state maintained that last night's attack did not go unpunished.

Donetsk strikes back at last; destroys several pieces of Ukraine artillery
http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/11/donetsk-strikes-back-at-last-destroys.html

While the DPR continues to respect the Minsk agreements, it seems nevertheless that the exasperation of the authorities of the republic is in tune with that of the population.

As the patience of the DPR authorities seems to have reached its limits, the DPR army responded to the fire on the evening of November 5 to destroy several enemy artillery pieces and fortified shelters from which firing coordinates were given, and most importantly, this response was publicized.

"We did not let the AFU aggression go unanswered. The armed forces of the DPR destroyed two artillery batteries, and three bunkers, one of which was a command post that was used to adjust the fire on Donetsk," said Alexander Zakharchenko.

This response was targeted to hit only the military installations, unlike soldiers of the Ukrainian army, who admit publicly on TV, they do not even know what they are shooting at!

"Honestly, we do not know what targets we are shooting at. We are given coordinates, we fire one or two shells. If on the other side, it does not calm down, then we fire another pair of shells," said a Ukrainian gunner.

A statement that is enough to leave you speechless, so shocking.

Be that as it may, the response of the DPR was effective, since during the last 24 hours, the ceasefire violations by the Ukrainian army dropped to 18 (as against 51 during the previous 24 hours).

This response has been more effective than the DPR's requests to the OSCE concerning scrupulously reporting the bombing of the Kievskyi District.

"Ukraine is bombing residential areas again with heavy artillery. There are no military units here, only civilian neighborhoods, a school, public infrastructure. This shows that Kiev is deliberately destroying the city of Donetsk. It is a crime, and I hope that the OSCE representatives will react to this incident and record the bombings," said Alexander Zakharchenko during his visit to the bombed sites.

"OSCE representatives do not consider it necessary to record obvious facts. Because their recording would show that Ukraine has started a war here, and that everything is the fault of Ukraine. For the OSCE, which initially supported Ukraine, recording these facts would be a recognition of its defeat. And, taking advantage of the media, I appeal to all OSCE representatives to ask them to record this bombing. For our part, we will also send our report to the CCCC," said Alexander Zakharchenko a little later.

It is indeed time for the OSCE to do its work, when we see that since the beginning of the school truce (started on 25 August 2017), the Ukrainian army has violated the ceasefire 2,494 times, pulling 9,719 projectiles and shells and 463 multiple rocket launcher rockets, which killed four civilians, injured 17 and damaged 100 homes.

The resumption of large-scale hostilities in Donbass is getting closer and closer, and the international bodies charged with preventing this are looking elsewhere.

Inspectors of the State Labor directorate, together with border guards conducted a special operation, as a result of which the group of Ukrainians were detained.

According to Poland, the stay of the detainees in the country was contrary to the goals that they declared when applying for visas at the consulates of Poland in Ukraine.

The Border Guard service issued an obligatory decision for the individuals to return to Ukraine.

The Ex-Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mykola Azarov, (2010 - 2014) has today in Moscow spoken in defense of American political adviser, Paul Manafort, who for a long time advised the Ukrainian government, and is now under charges in the United States.

Ex-PM of Ukraine reveals that Manafort worked for the interests of US, not Ukraine
http://www.fort-russ.com/2017/11/ex-pm-of-ukraine-reveals-that-manafort.html

"I was amazed when formal charges were brought against Manafort, whom I have known for many years personally, met dozens of times, talked for hours. And when they tell me that this man is accused of plotting against the US and pursuing a hostile policy against the US - it's just some kind of absurdity. He did not take one step when he worked in Ukraine, where he did not consult with the American ambassador.

He is an expert on electoral technology - back then I was leading an election campaign. We had serious differences though - he suggested putting in writing that Ukraine aspires to be a member of NATO. I told him: "Listen, Paul, do not say such nonsense. We have our own voters, and our voters do not need this." Then he went behind the scenes and tried through others.

But, I repeat once again, when a man like Manafort is called an "enemy of the United States," this indicates a unique paranoia. If he hadn't worked for 2 months as the head of Trump's campaign, no-one would remember Manafort."
