Civil War in Ukraine: Western Empire vs Russia

In this post dated yesterday, he seems to be saying how this (going back to his words "fourth schism") is making it difficult for the priests to even take their communion - as part of the Diaspora he does not mince words as wedges are dividing them: which they are caught up in within this larger divisive game of international political maneuvering.

Quote: However, apart from in the Ukraine, the fact that the three million-strong Patriarchate of Constantinople under financial pressure (the $25 million dollars paid to it by the US administration) has broken away from the 164 million-strong Russian Orthodox Church has had little effect in the Russian Federation and Eastern Europe. But in the Diaspora there is a huge effect. Virtually every day we pastors are confronted with the catastrophic consequences: Where can I go to church and take communion now? End Quote.

From my perspective, the "fourth schism" is self explanatory - to attack and further subdivide the influence of the Russian Orthodox Church. Pressure is externally created by unsanctioned divisions under the deception title "Orthodox" to confuse and set up internal strife within the Orthodox community. The same blueprint was used in the former Yugoslavia, as far back as the 1930-early 40's, long before NATO's 1999 bombings.

For the longest time, I couldn't understand (comprehend) why my Family, who had a long and generational adherence to Christian Orthodox in Yugoslavia, suddenly "flipped to the Catholic denomination" and "took on" the same façade when they migrated to the United States? They were forced into social adherence, for fear of consequences, if they didn't submit to that "Catholic label"! Many of the Orthodox Christians were singled out, losing everything including property and assets or worse during the 1930-40 Yugoslavian War.

Why they choose to migrate to a predominately Catholic Country (U.S.) is still a mystery? But within our household's, we continued the Orthodox tradition and observance of Holidays/Holy Days. My Father's family had purchased farm land, bordering a farm owned by a Russian family. We celebrated Easter/Christmas/New Year's together including visiting St. Tikhon's for Mass. The confusing part was that my Brothers and I, plus my Cousins were all sent to catechism classes, in a near by Catholic Church (St. Mary's)? The best way I can explain it, my family were "closet" Orthodox, while appearing "to be Catholic".

So, in reference to the above, it's not just the Orthodox Priests that are being pressured by the Diaspora, the Ukrainian's themselves are suffering from the chaos and confusion involving their own traditional faith and loyalty? And what are the consequences if the religious diaspora takes over dominance in Ukraine?

I'm reminded, there are two places the Pope is not allowed to set foot in - China and Russia! The Pope has been knocking on China's door but only "a tiny crack" has been opened. Russia, on the other hand, will never submit to Rome or the Pope. What Rome can't have - the Pope will use everything at it's disposal - to destroy.

The Syriafication of Ukraine (Europe) continues:

On Sott.net there was repost from Fort Russ:
Ukrainian General: US is advising Kiev to unleash 'chaos' In Donbass

Also from Fort Russ:
BRITISH SPECIAL FORCES PREPARING CHEMICAL ATTACK IN DONBASS - Fort Russ has:

FRN has confirmed from our sources on the ground that the data obtained by the DPR intelligence, in which a group of British military experts arrived in Artyomovsk, is likely to be correct. Of particular concern is that this operation, done in concert with Kiev, is being conducted in order to carry out a chemical attack in the north of the Donbass People’s Republic. While this was initially revealed at a briefing in Donetsk on Wednesday, November 21, by the head of the press service of the Office of People’s Militia, Captain Daniel Bezsonov, speculations circulated that the DPR’s announcement contained an error or over-statement.

And MAJOR: Kiev Positions Rocket Launchers At Donbass Ceasefire Line

So, in reference to the above, it's not just the Orthodox Priests that are being pressured by the Diaspora, the Ukrainian's themselves are suffering from the chaos and confusion involving their own traditional faith and loyalty? And what are the consequences if the religious diaspora takes over dominance in Ukraine?

Appreciated the historical background of your family in all this, and yeah, the people are pressured in the end as the actions start to limit how and where they can apply their faith; or as you said, they are more or less forced to switch as your family did. This seems to be the template of the past thousand years, to wreak or convert the Orthodox - first Constantinople and now using internal pretexts (country by country, church by church and thus its faithful pay the price) to isolate Russia Orthodox from the rest.

The best way I can explain it, my family were "closet" Orthodox, while appearing "to be Catholic".

Had read an old book about the Jesuits secret missions into Russia during the prewar period. Then, religion of any kind was in the "closet" and got the impression that the Jesuits (on the surface were trying to help Russians) were further meddling with the Orthodox and even turning them in (people and priests); and we know what happened.

Later, from the Catholic perspective, they cite all their reasons of unjust persecution - see here: The Role of the Jesuits in the Politics of Russian Education, 1801-1820 and yet Tsar Alexander (later it was against Tsar Nicholas II) went up against Napoleon (here): The Jesuits Against Russia!!

It was always very, very difficult for the Jesuits to penetrate Orthodox Russia from within . . . so their first major attempt at its overthrow from without was made by the British spy Napoleon Bonaparte.
[...]
The defeat of Bonaparte ended the Jesuits dream of using Napoleon to annex the Orthodox Church to the Latin Papacy.

[...]
This GREAT Tsar was absolutely horrified by the slaughter of the Napoleonic wars, so he proposed a treaty of friendship among all the European states called the Holy Alliance. This alliance was to instill the Christian virtues of charity and peace in European political life.

In conjunction with the British Bible Society, he arranged for the translation and distribution of the Scriptures throughout Russia. This also earned the Tsar the undying hatred of the Jesuits.

The Holy Alliance and the distribution of the Scriptures ended with the untimely death of the Tsar by poisoning onDecember 1, 1825, in the Russian city of Taganrog.
[...]
The Orthodox church was the special target of the Soviets

For 70 years the Soviets relentlessly attacked the Orthodox church. The Orthodox priests were their special targets. Many were sent to the Gulag and most of their churches and schools were closed. It was the longest sustained persecution in the entire history of the world:

For seventy years the official ideology of the USSR was "scientific atheism," carefully termed "Marxism-Leninism" for Western consumption. Lenin and Stalin were equal opportunity haters of all religions, but Russian Orthodoxy, state faith of the tsarist empire, was their special target. Khrushchev, who passed as a reformer in the West, confidently predicted that "the last remaining priest would be exhibited at a museum twenty years hence." He did not specify if this cleric would be stuffed or live, but his point was clear. Though Khrushchev fell from power in October 1964, the anti-Orthodox campaign did not let up. And yet, on this August afternoon in 1987, it looked as if the sun shone over a service that had been running continually since 1917. The packed cathedral, the icons, the ecstatic believers, the beautiful liturgy, and the exquisite robes of the two patriarchs seemed as if nothing had changed. Only the artificial bright lights of the Soviet television crew and its huge black boom and cameras betrayed the date. (Garrard, Russian Orthodoxy Resurgent, p.6).

Imagine the shock of the Jesuits when the Soviet Union collapsed and Orthodoxy was not dead but showed vital signs of coming to life again under Patriarch Alexy II.

So, it seems that If they can get to Russia by any means (creating internal Orthodox schisms such as we are seeing in Ukraine etc.) it is a continuation of the old Western Rome backed pogroms to end the Orthodox.

Those old Tsar's new a thing or two about the vital importance of the Russian Orthodox Church, like an underling fabric, which extends outwards, and they knew it was under constant attack. Ukraine today sees this Orthodox split, efforts at reform, and perhaps to be absorbed later. And people will either follow its new face or be forced to go underground least they be made examples of.

LUGANSK, November 25. /TASS/. Ukraine’s forces shelled militia positions in the self-proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic three times over the past 24 hours, the militias told the LuganskInformCenter on Sunday.

"The shellings targeted areas in Zolotoye-5 and the villages of Zhelobok and Kalinovka," the statement said.

According to the militias, the fire was opened from mortars, armaments of infantry fighting vehicles, grenade launchers and small arms.
The so-called "back-to-school" ceasefire in Donbass took effect on August 29.The agreement was reached in Minsk by the Trilateral Contact Group members. Since the beginning of the conflict in Donbass the sides have agreed more than 20 ceasefires, but have failed to achieve a lasting truce so far.

Swamp Creatures still in place!

Ukraine adopts 2019 budget to get IMF loan | Business Recorder
November 24, 2018
KIEV: The Ukrainian parliament on Friday passed the government’s 2019 budget, a move key to unlocking more aid from the International Monetary Fund after a tense night-long debate.

The IMF has agreed to give Ukraine a new, $3.9 billion loan to support the struggling ex-Soviet nation next year when it holds crucial presidential and parliamentary elections.

Lawmakers haggled over the bill into the morning hours before adopting the budget with a deficit of around 2.3 percent of gross domestic product early Friday.

Finance minister Oksana Markarova described the budget as “balanced and realistic.”

“This will provide an opportunity to confidently enter the year 2019,” Markarova told lawmakers before the vote during the second and final reading of the bill.

She said it would now be sent to the IMF “as quickly as possible.”

Ukraine has been locked in a conflict with pro-Russian separatists for the past four years and assistance from foreign donors is crucial.

Last month the Ukrainian government announced a gas price increase of 23.5 percent to take effect from November 1.

To receive more financial assistance Ukraine’s 2019 budget should be “consistent with IMF staff recommendations and an increase in household gas and heating tariffs,” the Washington-based organisation had said.

Economists praised the adoption of the budget, with Anders Aslund, a Ukraine expert and senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, saying the move should also open up “badly needed funds from the World Bank and the EU”.

Ukraine has not received any money from the IMF since April 2017, when the fund released $1 billion for the cash-strapped country to repay loans.

The pro-Western country had received less than $9 billion of the original $17.5 billion package.

An IMF lifeline has helped Ukraine to weather a crisis sparked by a Russian-backed war in the separatist industrial east that began in April 2014 and has claimed more than 10,000 lives.

24 November 2018 - UK Commits Extra Military Forces to Ukraine: Irresponsible Policy, Dangerous Repercussions
https://www.globalresearch.ca/uk-co...nsible-policy-dangerous-repercussions/5660940

Ukraine’s Constitutional Court green-lighted a bill on amending the country’s main law by enshrining into it the final goal of obtaining NATO and EU membership. The decision was announced the next day after the UK and Ukraine’s defense ministries made a joint statement, stressing the need to expand military cooperation. The defense chiefs agreed that Operation Orbital, the Army training program started in 2015, was a success to be continued at least till 2020. Instructors from the British Army, most of who have significant experience in participating in combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, have trained over 9,500 Ukrainian servicemen. An unspecified number of UK soldiers would be sent to train Ukrainian special forces and marines, in addition to the 100 personnel deployed currently in the country.

A multi-role hydrographic survey ship will be deployed in the Black Sea next year to demonstrate Britain’s support for Ukraine and ensure “freedom of navigation”. HMS Echo is not a warship but it flies the naval ensign. In September, Great Britain made known it planned to increase the warships’ presence in the Black Sea next year with increasingly frequent port calls to Odessa.

NATO naval presence there is seen as provocative by Russia amid increasing tensions in the Azov Sea. A conflict appears to be imminent and the West has taken the side of Ukraine despite the fact that it was Kiev who has been provoking it. EU High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini believes many vessels flying European Union flags were threatened to make Brussels consider “appropriate targeted measures” to be taken as a signal to Moscow.

The increase in UK military presence goes against the letter and spirit of Minsk accords, which state that the conflict in Ukraine should be managed through diplomatic and political means.

The US military already runs a maritime operations center located within Ukraine’s Ochakov naval facility designed to deliver flexible maritime support throughout the full range of military operations. Hundreds of US and Canadian military instructors are training Ukrainian personnel at the Yavoriv firing range. The US is to transfer two Oliver Hazard Perry-type frigates to Ukraine. The move will actually ensure constant NATO naval presence in the Black Sea going around the restrictions imposed by the Montreux Convention because the vessels will have America sailors onboard carrying out “training missions” and remain under US command, despite official sources saying otherwise. All in all, ten ships of that class are available for export. In September, the US Coast Guard transferred two Island-class cutters, armed with .50-caliber machine guns and 25mm deck guns. The transfers urge Kiev to challenge Moscow militarily.

Nobody in Washington or London asks why an industrialized nation and a large arms exporter, with abundant resources and fertile land should depend on foreign assistance unable to defend itself. Weapons are supplied and training is provided to the country, where corruption is rampant. Even the US State Department’s recent report says it is. Popular protests are commonplace. The conflict in Donbass is used to distract the people from domestic woes. The frustration with Kiev’s reluctance to introduce much-needed reforms and curtail the political influence of the oligarchs is rapidly growing. The common people of Ukraine need political and economic reforms, not increased foreign military presence on their soil.

The only reason for the West to keep the failed Ukraine afloat is its obsequiousness and readiness to be converted into a springboard to threaten Russia with an aggression. Despite Ukraine’s multiple problems, the country has recently been rewarded with an official status in NATO. The 2018 North Atlantic Alliance’s summit confirmed its support for Ukraine’s full-fledged membership to make a mockery of the so called “NATO standards.”

The UK government is going through hard times. It has just achieved as a draft agreement on post-Brexit relations with the EU. The deal has a little chance to make it through the Commons. Nobody knows exactly how it will end up if the MPs say no. There may be no Brexit at all finally. Chancellor Philip Hammond believes

“If the deal is not approved by parliament, we will have a politically chaotic situation… In that chaos that would ensue, there may be no Brexit.”
Or there may be endless negotiations, reconciliation conferences, delays and postponements. It’ll be a large order for the government to stay. There are supporters of no-confidence vote in parliament. You never know how it’s all going to pan out.

Nothing unites a divided nation better than an [alleged] external threat, such as Russia. The Brexit deadline is March 29 to launch a 21-months transition period with Britain still a member. The events in Ukraine are needed to fuel the fire. Making people think that the UK is lending a helping hand to a poor nation under attack is a way to improve the government’s image and approval ratings. The cabinet members never tell their people that by rendering military assistance to Kiev their country becomes an accomplice to a conflict that has nothing to do with its national security or interests. The UK military aid eggs the Ukrainian government on to seek a military solution.

Russia is not watching idle. If the Minsk accords are washed out, it will have each and every reason to recognize the Lugansk and Donetsk self-proclaimed republics as independent states eligible for military cooperation agreements, including stationing Russian military bases on their soil, if their governments ask for it. No international law would be violated.

Ukraine’s government is ramping up tensions because President Petro Poroshenko is running for re-election in March 2019 on a national security platform. So he takes a tougher line on Azov. Those who rush to provide him with military assistance become accomplices in his adventurist actions that could have disastrous consequences. The UK will bear responsibility for goading Kiev into taking a confrontational approach and turning the Azov Sea into a flashpoint that can spark at any minute.

Russia stopped three Ukrainian navy vessels from entering the Sea of Azov via the Kerch Strait on Sunday by placing a huge cargo ship beneath a Russian-controlled bridge, with officials from both countries accusing the other of provocative behavior.

A bilateral treaty gives both countries the right to use the sea, which lies between them and is linked by the narrow Kerch Strait to the Black Sea. But tensions around the sea have escalated since Russia annexed Ukraine’s nearby Crimea in 2014.

Moscow is able to control access between the Sea of Azov and the Black Sea after it built a bridge that straddles the Kerch Strait between Crimea and southern Russia.

A Reuters witness said on Sunday that a bulk cargo ship had been used to block the channel beneath the bridge and that he had seen two Russian Sukhoi Su-25 warplanes flying overhead. Russian state TV said Russian combat helicopters had also been deployed to the area.

Tensions surfaced on Sunday after Russia tried to intercept the three Ukrainian ships — two small armored artillery vessels and a tug boat — in the Black Sea, accusing them of illegally entering Russian territorial waters.

The Ukrainian navy said a Russian border guard vessel had rammed the tug boat, damaging it in an incident it said showed Russia was behaving aggressively and illegally.

It said its vessels had every right to be where they were and that the ships had been en route from the Black Sea port of Odessa to Mariupol, a journey that requires them to go through the Kerch Strait.

Russia’s border guard service accused Ukraine of not informing it in advance of the journey, something Kiev denied, and said the Ukrainian ships had been maneuvering dangerously and ignoring its instructions with the aim of stirring up tensions.

It pledged to end to what it described as Ukraine’s “provocative actions”, while Russian politicians lined up to denounce Kiev, saying the incident looked like a calculated attempt by President Petro Poroshenko to increase his popularity ahead of an election next year.

It made the statement after earlier saying that Russia had opened fire on the ships, which Russia blocked from passing through the Kerch Strait into the Sea of Azov. There was no immediate response to the allegation from Russia.

Ukraine’s national security council said President Petro Poroshenko had called a meeting of his military cabinet to discuss the situation.

When they built the bridge I had not considered this Sea of Azov/Black Sea access chock-point, which is a good defensive strategy to hold.

This escalation (in what seems initiated by Ukraine Naval provocations), if so, is not going to be stabilizing. Will have to see how it enters the Western press narrative; which would be somewhat predictable.

Sources say that a group of people has already approached the Russian Embassy in Kiev. People demand to declare war on Russia for shelling ships in the Kerch Strait.

Near the Russian Embassy in Kiev begins to gather an aggressive crowd. According to sources of Tsargrad, people demand "to declare war on Russia".

While the group is small - 10 people. People chant demands.

A similar situation is now on the air of Ukrainian TV channels. So, right in these minutes on air "112" experts in all seriousness demand to call Russia to account, to declare war. Several times there was a call "to break the agreement on the status of the Azov sea".

We will note that Ukraine accused Russia of attack of the ships. FSB clearly announced that " Ukraine was preparing a provocation in advance."

Ukraine to declare martial law after sea clash with Russia

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has said that he will propose declaring martial law in the wake of the altercation in the Black Sea that saw Russian military seize Ukrainian vessels for breaching Russian territorial waters.
The Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) has supported declaring martial law for 60 days. The motion will now go before the Ukrainian parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, for final approval.
The Ukrainian leader says Kiev does not plan to carry out any offensive operations if martial law is imposed.
