Clocks Jumping Forward/ Dissociation

My Partner works away from home quite often but we speak on the phone every night before bed. Last night he called me at around 9.30pm as normal and immediately began telling me about wierdness he had experienced. He explained that during the course of the evening he did all his usual things, finished working, went running and ate dinner. When he went back to his hotel room he realised that all his clocks (phone, computer and alarm) were reading much later than he thought (by a couple of hours). I asked him if he felt okay and whether he thought he might be missing time and he was simply stumped. However, he was very agitated and we ended up getting into a petty argument over nothing. What is really odd is that I had a very strange sense of disproportionate negativity during the evening. It may be useful to note that my partner has experienced missing time during his teens and witnessed a UFO but this hasn't happened in recent times. Since I have been more aware I have had strange experiences too, though not like this one, mostly it appears that I have an impact on electronics. Does anyone have any ideas what may have occurred?

It's a possible abduction, I think.

Have you had a chance to read Laura's book, High Strangeness and/or John Keel's The Mothman Prophecies.

There is a podcast on the subject: http://www.sott.net/podcasts/listall (Number 36: Channeling and Alien Abduction and transcript).

You can do a search on "missing time" with quotes for more info.

Thank you for your response Zadius Sky.

I have to admit that this is also the conclusion I came to based on the information, however, it would appear that I have got my wires crossed due to a very bad phone signal and the agitation. Having spoken to my Partner again this morning it would appear that the clocks were reading an hour behind not forward. He would have written it off had it not been for the alarm clock. He was having internet/ synchronization problems so thought it might be that in relation to the phone and computer. When he woke up this morning though the alarm clock had righted itself without his intervntion. It would also appear that the event most likely happened when he was out running for an hour. This is even more bizarre in some ways and seems to elude explanation. We would both have ignored it had it not been for some of the other things that have been happening (such as the electronic interferences, sensations and dreams). It is truly a strange and wonderful world we live in!

could there have been a power outage? Although that would not explain why the clock was correct in the morning unless there is some sort of auto-reset on it.

There is really nowhere near enough information to come to such a conclusion, Zadius. It's wise in cases such as these to first try to find a logical reason for it, lest a person get swept away by emotion and imagination. Obviously abductions do occur, but so does dissociation and mechanical glitches, so I'd say the jury is still out on this, but it's worth discussing it with him further - in a calm and open minded way - to find out more.

You're right, anart. My apologies for making a hasty conclusion.

Hi Both

My Partner and I discussed it last night at home and have logically explained away most of what happened as a combination of normal electronic faults and dissociation. My partner was very tired and so was I when he called. I feel daft having posted this now as we would have just worked it out ourselves anyway. I guess once one's mind is beginning to open, one tends to over-analyse situations! I would say that certain elements of the event could still be classed as odd, but probably not overly so.

Anyway, thank you for your responses none the less. As I said in my introduction, I have been used to working things out alone and was a bit over-excited at having the forum to discuss these things with.
