The series centers on the conflict between a group of rebels from the year 2077 who time-travel to Vancouver, BC, in 2012, and a police officer who accidentally accompanies them. In spite of being many years early, the rebel group decides to continue its violent campaign to stop corporations of the future from replacing governments, while the police officer endeavours to stop them without revealing to anyone that she and the rebels are from the future.

This show is an amazing sci-fi/time travel show that pretty much shows what is happening today, and where it can lead.

Some interesting things from the future that seem to be starting in the real world (and "present day" in the show):
-corporations bailed out the government and run a "corporate congress"
-police can be remote controlled (implant "enhancements"- like SOTT posted about)
-those same implants can be used to change/delete/download memories
-anyone with debt etc, is a servant of the state (it's happening w the new banking laws)
-the revolutionaries are easily labeled as terrorists, despite having valid points about the problems

Present day in the show pretty much echoes what has been happening today:
-privatization of police starting
-dissent is "bad" (even if against an evil system)
-corporations hiding technology until it suits their global agendas

There are also interesting time travel issues with alternate timelines and time loops.

I'm enjoying this show myself. I've been watching since the beginning and the similarities between the show and real life are something else. There's so many twists to who trusts who and it seems like just about everyone has their own agenda. It'll be interesting to see which side this pro-corporate cop ends up on in the end.

I really enjoyed this series too. I watched Season 1 and 2 on Netflix. I'm waiting for Season 3 because I never seem to remember to watch it on SciFi. I did a few marathon sessions - watching several episodes back to back.

Lately, I've started watching the series XIII - The Conspiracy (also on Netflix) which is pretty entertaining, but kind of creepy too, if you consider that the NSA and CIA may actually be as bad as the series portrays. Maybe they just put it right there in your face, so folks would think, oh it's just in the movies, doesn't really happen in real life.

I saw this last year but I think it was season 2 or 3 so although I knew what was going on, I didn't have a clue as to the development. Seemed good, but I'll need to see the first season if I'm to continue.

XIII is based on a comic I think, developed into a videogame (a good intelligent one - cell-shaded -one of the few) then the tv series. They did well on the series in my opinion. I don't know, for me, the creepiness is similar to a cancelled tv show in the mid 2000s, the name I've long forgotten. There was this bald black guy as a cop in the lead role and he kept reliving the same day over and over. It may have been the same hour, I don't remember as the whole thing was pretty convoluted. There was some shadowy government/corporation that were pulling the strings with this time travel device, they regularly met up in a quarry late at night to do some kind of X-Files "bait and switch" maneuvers with the cop. It was around the time of the other tv show flop, "flash forward."

The themes to shows seem to come in cycles and unfortunately, we've been stuck with the vampire werewolf teen angst gibberish for over ten years and they have way too many episodes and seasons. There was "recently" a show called "revolution" (the world's electricity is switched off - by world I mean America - and chaos ensues) which was a poor man's "Jericho" for anyone who watched that. It was pretty good and I Googled the show to see the number of seasons left... "cancelled after 2 seasons." Hmm. Hitting too close to home in the way Jericho did perhaps?

Yes! I do agree that this TV show is a very good one, in total adequation with what we are facing, even if transposed in a near future for some part. I even think that the last season (3) is the best one! But I will not reveal anything about it... :P

I have Firefox with Ad Block. I've used Couch Tuner for Game of Thrones all last season. It plays on Sunday nights and by Monday it's streaming...No commercials, No e-mail address...No Go Pro either. Just read the How to Watch... Click on the Yellow watch here link at the top. I don't have a dish or cable bill whatsoever. All Three seasons of Continuum. Happy Day

I forgot they had ads because I have adblock on Firefox. I never had to sign up for anything either. It contains links to various streaming sites and some are broken so it can be a pain clicking alternatives until one works. So it is not the best, just it might be one way to access Canadian content.

I have watch the 2 first season.

It seems that I will have to wait several moinths before the season 3 dvd comes out.

If anybody have the information for the release date for this dvd I will be happy to know.

I did watch all three seasons and can say that it's not a common serial I have watched before. Even my wife who doesn't like sci-fi style movies enjoyed it.
Basically what I found interesting in it was observation of a cop from future who had particular personal values majority of which did match the ones declared by Corporate Consortium and how she was noticing that everything might not look as it seemed to be at first glance and how she felt about that.

The movie helped me to understand better what can be consequences of time travel for making some changes in order to shape the future and the result of that may bring totally unexpected results. It was sort of live presentation in understandable and simple way of what C's said on time travel, creation of alternate realities and manipulation of events by STS.

The movie also gives some common examples of outcomes what can happen when a chip is installed into human body and how then it is used by those who implemented it there.

Season 4 release is scheduled for next year.
