Corbyn appoints vegan as secretary for environment, food and rural affairs

The article went on to say- [quote author= guardian article]Not least of these is the environment – and while the tabloid press has had a field day with screeching headlines about her belief that beef farming is unsustainable, it has overlooked one hugely important fact. Methane emissions from animal agriculture are a massive factor in global warming (19% of total global greenhouse emissions).

And they continue to talk about it, while avoiding the fact that for the first time in our human history we are massively burning methane, thus destroying this massive factor in global warming.

I don't know about statistics, but I doubt that animals produce more methane then we are burning now. Just look how many gas pipelines there are, and there will be in the future.

Sorry to have to say it, but being a man of the people isn't enough to cut it in our 'modern' world run by pathologicals. To succeed, a leader also has to be a figure of authority, at once approachable and 'untouchable'. Along with these qualities he/she must also be intensely aware of the nature of those who rule this planet and, therefore, the forces that are set against him. From what I have seen of Jeremy, he's a decent guy with good intentions, but, as I said, that's unlikely to be sufficient.

I agree Perceval. He sat down and shut up fairly quickly during his first PMQ, not even using his own words but those of members of the public. He appears to lack the requisite credibility in the eyes of the rest of the House including many in his own party.

I hope that he bides his time and builds his credibility and 'plays the game' until he's in a position to really make the difference but realistically speaking, he's very much up against so much more that any one man could be expected to bear, without Putin-levels of resolve and intelligence that is. :(

Also, I'm pretty sure I read in an RT article where he was quoted as saying that he supported the removal of Assad from power in Syria, which very much dampened any hope I had of him doing anything different as a politician.
