Current Bush Fire Dangers in Australia,

chaps23

Jedi Master
Something has been playing on my mind all fire season, just qant to check that all Australian members are fairing well with current bushfires covering most of the state of NSW and indeed other area's in Australia too.

I was camping in Halls Gap last Sunday, Monday and Tuesday and almost got stuck in it on the way home to Geelong with the western freeway being closed due to fires.

Is anyone in need of any assistance at all?

Best Regards,

Brent.

P.S for all of you unaware there were at one stage this year over 140 fires of which 40 out of control in NSW last week. Possibly the worst situation since black saturday a few years back.

Hi chaps23,

Thanks for the concern. I am in Sydney (inner west) so don't have much chance of being caught in a fire area, but the fires raging all around this state are many and extremely dangerous, but as yet I've not heard of any loss of life, thank goodness.

A few fires have been started by kids, luckily the police have caught a few of them, more to follow. Crazy people! The firefighters are exhausted enough with the fire heat and the raging temperatures in the 40's. Our area is back to the mid 20's at the moment.

You know as I was on my way home after writing this we had a fire on the out scirts of geelong in Little River & Lara, then yesterday over 4 fires deliberately lit along the Barwon River one of them in 3 m high grass!!! It's sad that the most damage from bush fires is coming from deliberatly lit fires.
