The Living Force
In my quest for some quality popcorn viewing I stumbled across this gem staring Michelle Pfeiffer.
NB: I liked the Dylan Thomas references so much that I took the quote from the movie for signature:
“Do not go gentle into that good night old age should burn and rave at close of day; Rage, rage against the dying of the light .”
Yes, it has a fairly standard plot of inner city US high school drop outs trying to survive and take out their frustration on their class teacher. But it is done very well and I thought it was a real pleasure to watch. Pretty moving too at times and all together works well in portraying a teacher trying to do the best they can to improve themselves whilst doing what they can to improve the chances of the students. I thought it was a good weekend flick and not too cheesy. Enjoy! :)=IMDB: An ex-Marine turned teacher struggles to connect with her students in an inner city school.
