Darth Vader Canteen Incident

I love Eddie Izzard, he's so funny. This is the same clip plus him minus the lego: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KJ2yRTRlMFU

I heard he doesn't dress as a woman anymore, which I think is too bad because it kinda suited him very well. I'd love to see him live sometimes... I missed his recent amsterdam show.

That was too funny! The canteen attendant stalked his petty tyrant well and gave everyone a good laugh to boot! osit.

:lol2: That one gets my every time! I've always loved his Cake or Death bit too - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAOLOGGftTY&feature=related - He seemed to have a great take on history.

Same here! The Darth Vader sketch is one of the things that has made me laugh the most in the history of ever! Like, bellyache laughter. Cake or Death is a classic too!

Awesome. Very nicely done by the animator!

While we're on Izzard, this is my personal favorite, the languages bit - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1hJQsvoY6VU

Thanks, I didn't know Eddie Izzard, I was just looking for Darth Vader videos on YouTube for the kids (who are big fans of DV ) and came upon this excellent lego animation.
Here's another one with legos and Izzard's voice:

Thanks for sharing Lúthien. Absolutely hilarious. :rotfl:

And talking about Darth Vader, I just realised that we don't have a Star Wars topic on the Movies board!

Oh no, you had to go there, didja?

Hmm. I could be because I'm really tired, but I didn't like these sketches at all! The lego one was OK, I suppose, but all the others didn't make me laugh at all. I found most of the jokes silly, and I hate it when comedians have to curse to sound cool. If you can't tell a joke without cursing, then you are not a god comedian, IMHO. And what's up with his makeup and clothes? Is that his style, or is it supposed to be funny?

I don't know. I must have a weird sense of humor if you all liked it that much... But I promise, I DO have a sense of humor, though! :D

I started watching the first few seconds and couldn't stand it anymore. Well... I'm very tired. Perhaps I'll recover my sense of humor tomorrow ;)

Well, that's not my style neither. :(

I prefer George Carlin. :D

Eddie's a lot funnier when you can see his facial expressions/smile ( this leggo stuff is really weak, imo ). I think he's really funny and quite smart, actually. I just saw his new 'Live at Wembely' DVD (well, late 2009) and he's definitely still dressing in drag. His Wembley performance wasn't his strongest, he seemed wound up a little too tightly, but some of his earlier stand up routines I've seen on DVD were very, very funny and very intelligent. Just my take... :)

I really love the whole canteen bit, but not with Legos. It loses the beauty of Eddie's expressions. Hubby and I have several of his stand up shows on dvd, and when we have a bad week, watching him helps put things in perspective. :D

My other favorite routine? "Do you have a flag?"
