It is appalling that such a resolution is being proposed, civil servants should not have such powers; if information is required then permission for access can be sought from a judge if there are strong grounds, otherwise any c.s. can on a whim spy on anyone. People are not perfect. What safeguards will be put into place to prevent abuse of such powers and info by c.s.?

The chances are that anybody who is seriously commited to the exploration of ideas as explicated by the themes of essays on this site is on some form of database or other.

From birth, our cards have been marked in one form or another; it's just getting more explicit in accordance with expanding awareness. As the masses wonder, they wander; hence the employment of any form of yoke possible.

Who among us will be spooked? Stay clean, stay keen, and always carry a lightbulb. Or, as a wiser bloke than me said, "Always be prepared to speak your mind, and a base man will avoid you" - whilst scribbling notes on the sly to plot your detention.
