Do animals use a sixth sense?

Ive often heard people say - animals can tell, they will be drawn to such a person. I take this to mean they can sense a nice, pleasent and trustworthy person. I personally have found this to be the case with me. Be it cats or dogs, ducks, hens, horses and even guard dogs :)

My two dogs always seem to sense when Im coming home and will wait a few steps up the stairs with excitement. They both also seem to know if im thinking about taking them for a walk. As one or both will suddenly come to me looking excited.

So I think they do use some extra sense as part of their daily lifes.

Anyone agree with this?

I think AI suggestion is already really great. And when I personally think about sixth sense and animals always T.C. Lethbridge (The power of the pendulum) comes to my mind and that animals, beside also insects use their whiskers/antennas to sense certain things. Also when this book is not only about animals and discusses the pendulum in a general way. Eventually with that they are more sensitive to unseen things imo. And could eventually lead to electrical phenomena and to sense them.

And I don't know if you read it already, there was also a discussion in the last session about psychic abilities and animals.

I think that for us we consider it to be a sixth sense, for them It is just they way they interact with the world around them to avoid danger. Dogs have a VERY sensitive sense of smell, can actually smell who and what has been in the area over a past time frame, cats are one of the very few species that have VERY keen and sensitive hearing more so than dogs do. They can hear and distinguish from other people if their owner is approaching from over 300 yards away, and who or what is around them just by listening to the sounds around them. For them this make us easy to "read". I think also, that all animals are energetically receptive to what we give out with our thoughts and feelings.

I have a cat of 14 years, and I do not have to verbally call, and rarely do so, for him to come to me I just think of him and turn around and he is there, as one instance.
