Just read this on bbc initially today - and its been covered on other news websites too. Not sure if it has been covered by Sott.

Wooden boats with dead bodies have been drifting close to the Japanese coastline. They remain a mystery, but most news sites are reporting that they are probably North Korean fishing vessels, because a tattered flag was found hanging in one of them.

A REMARKABLE and unexplained phenomenon is taking place off the coast of Japan aboard rickety wooden boats floating aimlessly with the ocean’s currents.
The origins of the boats themselves — mostly fishing vessels — are a mystery, but it’s their cargo that has Japanese officials scratching their heads and searching for answers.
Over three months, 12 boats have drifted towards the Japanese coastline and been intercepted and towed to shore. On-board, officials have discovered the lifeless, decomposing bodies of 25 men.
Bad weather can’t be blamed: Japan’s meteorological agency said there hadn’t been any since October when the boats first started washing up.
The bodies, though decomposed, do not appear to show signs of a struggle, either. Clues are few and far between, but authorities say one clue could break the mystery wide open.
On one of the boats they found a tattered cloth that appeared to have originally been part of the North Korean flag. On another boat there was a handwritten sign identifying the vessel as belonging to unit 325 of the North Korean army, though Pyongyang has made no comment on the matter.

From the Telegraph in UK:

The remains of 25 people have been found aboard 11 wooden boats that have washed up on the coast of northern Japan in the last two months.
Several of the dilapidated vessels bore Korean characters and Japanese police believe the victims were either fishermen unable to return to their ports in North Korea or defectors attempting to escape the repressive regime.
A spokesman for the Coast Guard confirmed that words in "hangul" were identified on some of the boats - one bore the characters for Korean People's Army No. 325 in red - and most were carrying fishing equipment.
All the human remains aboard the boats were in an advanced state of decay and two of the bodies had no heads, indicating that they had been adrift for a considerable period of time.

Really strange. This could have been North Korean fishing vessels - but I'm reminded that the C's mentioned that there is an Atlantean crystal buried off the coast of Japan - could this be old fishing vessels that were "stuck" in another reality before "appearing" again ? Or other high strangeness involved ? Not sure at all, and just speculating fwiw....
