Dozens of sinkholes have appeared in the rural Hunter Valley community of Broke in the aftermath of flooding rains, filling up with the suffocating stench of sewage.

The areas mentioned were flooded recently so some of what they are calling sonkholes may just be erosion. Apparently cars, caravans and fences have been swallowed up.
