Thanks Laura. Very useful info on that page. I have some lying around in the toolbox, but never known the multitude of uses possible. Will stock up on some.
Is duct tape safe enough to be put on the skin directly ? I am under impression that if it is not safe to put in the mouth, do not put it on your skin either.

I have put it quite often directly on my skin when I was doing some trekking and I have never had any problems with it. On the contrary, it did help me quite a lot.
When you have a blister instead of using a standard plaster, I always use a piece of duct tape. It does wonders.
Twenty years ago I worked on a forest fire suppression crew in British Columbia, and duct tape was a necessity. We would tape the pant cuffs of our coveralls to our boots to prevent getting live coals in our boots, as well as patching up torn or burnt clothing and repairing damaged boots and axe and shovel handles.
I've also used it, in conjunction with Krazy Glue, to permanently repair plastic body moldings on my old 1980 Oldsmobile.
Great stuff.
