Yes, I think that is a distinct possibility and it is continuing with numerous quakes in the M4, M5 range. The timescale is hard to guess, whether it be hours, days, weeks or months.Maybe something is going on off the coast of Oregon and this is only a precursor?
FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Earthquakes Canada is reporting a magnitude 4.0 earthquake that occurred 67 kilometres from Fort St. John on Monday morning.
According to the agency, the earthquake caused no damage, and it was not felt.
The quake occurred at a depth of 2.39 kilometres at around 6:45 this morning.
The region is not a stranger to earthquakes with the largest incident dating back to 2001, when a 5.4 magnitude quake shook just on the other side of the B.C.-Alberta border near Dawson Creek.
The earthquake in Japan was upgraded to M6.0, the swarm off the Coast of Oregon continues with less intensity.
I just listened to it, but I didn't hear him mention anything about Japan and what is happening there. It was interesting never the less and I would be extra alert if I was living on the West coast of the US. That cluster of medium sized earthquakes in such a short time span signals something is afoot. What exactly is the big question.YouTuber 'TheEarthMaster' presents a pretty good and measured overview, I think, of this most recent swarm off the West coast in the context of the Cascadia subduction zone, what's also occurring in and around Japan, plate tectonics in general, and other dot-connecting.
