Hi friends,

Here's a project that i collaborate on which produces electro and rap (and the likes) music topped with lyrics in french and english, most of which repeat some key things that the C"s have relayed to us over the years.

For songs (w lyrics) the word lyrics will be included on title insert, as well as the title will usually indicate if song is in french or english. Now even though the music is a lot like rap, the voices and the delivery are very different from mainstream, as well as the lyrics, which are not mainstream at all. We use the name DANLEMIEL which means 'in the honey', All sounds free to download on Soundcloud, and links to our blog as well: (here are links to the 2 last entries)

Example of french song: Globeistan -@Untergangsmaschine (#Lyrics); _https://soundcloud.com/dan-lemiel/au-coeur-de-labstraction-danlemiel-pascharlie

Example of English song: Au Coeur de l'Abstraction - EschatoNiouze(#Lyrics); _https://soundcloud.com/dan-lemiel/globeistan

The voices are not up to norm, as far as recording is concerned for we work with very basic tools, but results are quite okay! Our soundcloud page houses presently more than 40 tracks, which are mirrored on the Blog: FRONTALEPOÉSIE, where we élaborate and present some frontal-poetry!

Thank you and easy listening to all! (Digital music is always best served on headphones or studio monitor type speakers, otherwise much of the dynamics are lost! ALl tracks are .wav format for best quality download and listening))

NB: Just as an aside, we had a song up for 2 days entitled: SI JE MÉRITAIS D'ÊTRE BLACK (iF I DESERVED BEING BLACK) which was an assault (nice though) on racism, and was linked to what just went down in Paris, and suddenly got some real nasty mail, so we took it down and will repost it once we've recreated a not so nice, more in your face version; the only way i can see to fight ignorance is not put up with it, and bring on the debate!

Oups sorry, i inverted these:
Example of french song: Au Coeur de l'Abstraction - EschatoNiouze(#Lyrics); _https://soundcloud.com/dan-lemiel/au-coeur-de-labstraction-danlemiel-pascharlie

Example of English song: All there is is lessons - Egolution(#Lyrics);_https://soundcloud.com/dan-lemiel/lessons-egolution

I like the style and thought the music itself was good with a lot of potential for growth. How did you record the lyrics?

Hi A Jay, thank you!

The voices are done with a 12 dollar headset from 'Bureau en Gros' Office supplies store, at the moment. But as i begin to understand better the compression standards and software, i am looking into using a studio for the voices soon.

As a follow-up post, here are some playlists from a forum member creating 'eclectronic' musical poetry in french and english (inGlitch, as i prefer to say) touching on subjects that often get mentionned on the forum:

My original french/ english vocal tracks: titled EGOLUTION; https://soundcloud.com/dan-lemiel/sets/frontalepoesie2

And more recent works, with a definite Rap-Trap sound to them: An Zéro Year 0 = https://soundcloud.com/dan-lemiel/sets/migrating-to-higher-lands + Hybrides = https://soundcloud.com/dan-lemiel/sets/spoken-trap-francoanglo

Then i got into creating intrumental music, from which came a Beatstore: https://soundcloud.com/dan-lemiel/sets/trapmystiqc

ALL TRACKS are free to download on a Creative Commons Licence for you to use as you wish! Thank you!!

Oh, i nearly forgot, as of today i inherited of a proper microphone so from here on out, the vocals will be a little better sounding! Although from having networked with other artists, we have created some high quality Lo-Fi (smile)!

Hello children of Cassiopeae, here is a playlist of french and english spokenword/ songs (see titles for indication/ many are bilingual french/ english) which are directly inspired by what we study here. The first 2 songs are in collaboration with MissRoBee who contrary to me is a 'real' musician: (I am aware that i've already posted this link but the tracks have been greatly improved thanks to MissRoBee: All free downloads, thank you!
