Often, people in search of a better life and work go into the cities from their small towns.
What happens to their houses, when the last members of the household dies, look at the pictures:

The village is located on the Yangtze River, on a small island within the archipelago Šengsi.
Because ivy, buildings seem to sprout from the earth.

Very beautiful Casper! Both life (growth) and decay sharing one space, and with it, it gives the ability to perceive so much "time" flowing through it all. I find these images super powerful, so thank you for sharing!

Beautiful pictures indeed! The mist adds to the atmosphere of sadness due to the abandonment, while the ivy bespeaks of new growth. The growth of original nature, which captures back any place when the humans are gone.

Thanks for sharing :)

Precisely! It's eerie to look at these pictures because it seems as though the Earth is trying to adjust and harmonise to their being present and occupying the space, if that makes sense. It would be interesting to see how they look after a period of time in a continued state of human absence.

Thank you for sharing, casper! :)

So Beautiful! All the GREEN! I'd like to move back into one of these homes being over taken by nature. Its my kind of place.

I've always had a fascination for abandoned houses. Always want to check them out and explore whenever I come across them. There is such a mixture of feelings and impressions in these places, maybe that's the appeal for me. Photography of these places also fascinates me. Pinterest has some awesome pictures of abandoned mansions.

Here's one.
