Environmental purifier ozone and anions

Hi all

I was searching some data about this kind of devices but in the internet all i found are sellers and reports about this devices speaking very well about them. All i want to know is if these statements are truth or not that's to say if this device is beneficial or detrimental or harmless. And if some of you want to share the experience with this device please do it.

I have used 2 Oreck air purifiers with ion generators for years. One sits beside the TV, one by the computer, and they do dramatically cut down the amount of dust that accumulate on the screens and inside the air vents of the expensive electronics. The type I use has washable filters.
