The grand jury has reached a decision in this case. They will not file any charges against the 23 y/o father who pummeled a man to death for attempting to molest his daughter. They said he was protecting his daughter from a rapist and both the father and the child have suffered enough.

I am not surprised, as this did happen in Texas. I agree with the grand jury - he should not face any charges.

Good to see sanity prevailed in this case.

It appears from the 911 call that the father did not intend to kill. He seems to wanted to save the life of the man who assaulted his daughter.

Perhaps the daughter understood, or at some point will understand, that her dad was protecting her and that he believed killing was wrong even in that circumstance. Hopefully, they can heal together.

This thread has given me much thought about the right thing to do in extreme circumstances. A vengeful killing would have piled one wrong upon another. We can't know the situation in the grand scheme of things. Karmic circumstances have been mentioned. For all we know, the daughter, in a previous life, may have been a perpetrator in such a crime. Our 3D point of view is very limited indeed.
