I am curious by what method you derived that list, and from where you received the definitions. Is it a standard process that can be applied to any name?
 
Interesting! I did this with my name, Mary, when I was a child, and found it derives from the Hebrew "bitter" or "bitter herb". Not very impressive, right? However, behindthename.com believes it actually derives from the Egyptian "mr" meaning "love" or "mry" meaning "beloved". Much better, knowing that "mer" typically means "sea" and is related to many feminine symbols. I initially thought that the misogynistic Hebrews corrupted the name to further denigrate women given their goddess-destroying history. But, if you look at its close companion, myrrh, Wikipedia explains that in Aramaic "myrrh" means "was bitter" and alludes to a thorny plant where myrrh is the resin and in older times this resin was very valuable as a healing/spiritual aid and worth its weight in gold. Going further, it is also called the "Balm of Gilead" and is mentioned not only in the Bible in relation to priests and knowledge, but was one of the gifts of the Magi to the infant Jesus. I think these "gifts" had nothing to do with monetary value! Let's also not forget the "crown of thorns". I think it's far more important to read the Bible symbolically (with an eye to Roman corruption) and not literally. Don't you love free association? I just went from my name to a comment on the Bible! (By the way, somewhere else on this site is a thread on the meaning of names.) :halo:

"Feel" is most feminine than "think" and is more accurate.

Hi, Mary, Remember "In the beginning was the verb(vibration, sound) and the verb become flesh and inhabit with us".

My name have two meanings="An agreeable place" and also refer to "A way to gather knowledge".
 
Glad you mentioned vibrations in connection with the word(s), as vibrations are the basis of all that is, in string theory; "and in the beginning was the word, and the word dwelt with g-d". If the entire universe is nothing but vibrations of energy, and the universe is also holographic (holographic meaning 'one word' or self-word?), then our conversations with each other are the universe talking to itself.....
 
I looked at my name and found some other words in it. My name is Clifton Edward. So, I put them together like this:
cliftonedward.

I found the word 'one' right in the middle. And then the words: tone, toned one, lift onward, war, to, on, if.

So yea, it's very interesting even what other words are contained within a name!

This horoscope kind of thing about my first name is pretty accurate. My mother bought it a long time ago so this is my source.

Emotional Spectrum: Able to vent his anger constructively.
(Dead on since thanks to my father i have always had the awareness that i had and extremely large capacity to discharge anger, and i have always known that i needed to learn how to control it. This is ther primary reason why i started to meditate.)

Personal Integrity: You would never make a mistake placing your faith in Brian.
(Also dead on because once i give my word that i will do something, i have to keep my word or i'll experience alot of "remorse of conscience" as Gurdjieff would say. This has caused me alot of problems as you might imagine living in such a world as we do.)

Personality: Born to have fun
(This one is not so accurate, i like to have "fun", but its not like i live for it. But i guess it would depend on what you define as "fun". To me sitting in the basement for hours on end reading, learning, math, science, etc, IS FUN. But to those around me they cannot understand this. They would rather go out to the club and drink till they passed out, i tried it alot when i was still very much asleep,, and struggling for some vague thing i could not percieve. Verdict for me, NOT FUN. If i define fun as what i enjoy doing now, then yes i am born to have fun, but then again who isn't.

Relationships: Not many people are as giving as Brian.
(Again, dead on, it goes in line with the personal integrity thing. It kind of sucks sometimes when you have this quality about yourself and you live in this world. :D That is why when i stumbled upon this material, it was more valuable than gold to me because the feeding dynamic, etc, and how to stop it was priceless.

Anyway, i feel like i am rambling on about myself so i'll stop, but i would definitely like to read more about the names of the forumites so cmon everyone, lets share. :)
