I have same problem and in the last half an hour I have not a connection with the forum at all. But I could get SOTT.

Me too. I keep getting the page unable to load, or the session timing out.

Same here - I also tried Psalehesost's suggestion but same slow loading, fwiw.

I haven't had much problems with the site and boards loading until last evening when things started to really slow down for me.

Today, I was getting redirected to the Cassiopaean Experiment page twice and then nothing would load about 30 or 45 minutes ago.

It's zipping right along now, but who knows for how long?

Thank you Psalehesost for the IP Addresses.
I'd like to bring y'alls attention to something. If the DNS servers go down, we WILL need the IP Addresses listed below for internet access.

cassiopaea.org: http://50.7.225.115
the forum: http://50.7.225.115/forum
SOTT.net: http://66.90.73.49

Write those down and keep them safe.
And you may ask: What is a DNS Server?

One random suggestion - no idea if it'll help: If you try browsing with the IP address instead of the domain name (cassiopaea.org: http://50.7.225.115, the forum: http://50.7.225.115/forum, SOTT.net: http://66.90.73.49) and it works better (otherwise - for this purpose - there's no point to what follows) then you can try using an alternative DNS server - for example, you can then google OpenNIC (has servers in Europe, in places where the DNS lookup of the sites is known to work properly) and/or alternatively OpenDNS, and set it up.

And I, not long after posting, was bitten by the same problem as well.

Almost the same here. For several consecutive weeks now occasionally slow loading of webpages, though not only here but at random everywhere. Don't understand the reasons why, since there seems to be no discernable pattern underlying this phenomenon.
Also, on rare occasions I experienced the redirect to main page (Homepage Forum) while clicking active intra forum links to somewhere else.
No specific problems in the last half hour or so.

We seem to be experiencing more technically difficulties related to the RAID drives in our server. Not sure yet what's going on, but apparently it is not yet fixed. When a drive resync occurs due to errors on one of the drives, the server can become slow, although strangely enough it's never slow for me.

Could that be your proximity to the server, a line to the server not accessable to the general public, or perhaps a different port (entry point) for your admin work and status?

I live east coast USA and have problems only between 8pm-12am est. It is 1pm here now and I am not having issues. Perhaps it is when the most folks hit the servers. Just a thought I am far from a techie.

For a while now - maybe a few weeks? - when I click on 'post' things are very slow to connect. Once or twice the connection has timed out. I'm using the latest version of Firefox and Win 7.

Added: . . . but this post was really quick to load

That doesn't sound good--maybe a drive failing/getting ready to fail? Enough cooling on the drives?

I personally have had a few instances of slow loading or bad connections to the site over the past couple of weeks, but only a few I can recall.

Yesterday and fiew days before I had same problems. The forum site was not able to open due to time request error. I will try next time with the IP's. Thanks!

Recently when I click "new" next to a thread to see new posts, strange things occur such as it will start at a post that I've already read or there's supposed to be a new post by a member but when I check the thread it isn't there. I have no idea why that might be. Just thought I'd report it here.

By the way, out of curiosity, I checked the member's profile who is supposed to have posted something new and it's in their posts but not on the thread.
