Thought this article was pretty funny to share. A master lesson in wishful thinking and reality manipulation.

Snip:
...Over the years we've been told a great many countries would soon be eating our lunch. When I was young, it was the Soviet Union with its 100 megaton nuclear bombs and its ability to lift huge payloads into space. Then it was the Japanese with their mastery of electronics and miniaturization. Now it's the Chinese who eye our lunches as they move 200 million people a decade from rural areas into cities, putting them to work building cities and working in factories. And yet, despite this onslaught, America has remained on top, despite what the alarmists say. I'm not saying the United States doesn't have problems. It does. But losing our economic lead is not one of them.

Oh my god! I'm having a Putin moment!

Putin moment, indeed. Fact is, the US economy has already lost first place. With all the manipulated data/faked statistics (counting imports as part of US GDP, not to mention actual unemployment of around 37% - Great Depression range, etc.), some have already been saying that the Chinese economy has surpassed the US in the last couple of years, even with all the fake US statistics. And the REAL U.S. total debt/obligations/promises can't be paid off even if all economic activity was taxed at 100% - so the US is effectively already bankrupt.

A good example of what happens to people who fall under the influence of psychopaths.
He's probably equating enrichment of a few with overall welfare of America.
It reminds me of Parenti's book on Caesar.
