Fracking, Pipelines, and Comets

One alarming aspect of the fracking issue is the number of pipelines that are being proposed to transport natural gas. These pipelines extend over great distances, are located in heavily populated areas, and, in some cases, the controls are not local but far away.

Then there is the Keystone Pipeline which is slated to transport oil from the tarsands from Canada across the continental United States.

This situation is happening all over the world as Obama and the State Department have been pushing fracking everywhere.

As fracking uses millions of gallons of water per frack per well, and as much of this water remains underground and does not return to the natural wate cycle, I'm wondering if there is some sort of overall plan that, when and if comets do strike, it would be almost impossible for the planet to recover as many explosions could be set off at once on a global level especially if a lot of the earth's water is underground.

I'm just trying to make sense of this whole scenario - what is the motivating factor behind all of this rush to harvest gas and build pipelines? Is this a conscious decision undertaken for a particular aim? Or is this simply the inevitable manifestation and fruit of the psychopathes and the corporations they've created and will they perish as well?

The planet will recover just fine from pretty much everything. On a cycle of thousands of years, it will recover beautifully as it has many many times in the past, from what I understand.

I'm just trying to make sense of this whole scenario - what is the motivating factor behind all of this rush to harvest gas and build pipelines?
