I hope I can help, I think the “Saw Palmetto.” Has the same name in French – so nothing to translate there, so it would read like so:

Ce serait comme se trainer à travers des buissons épais de Saw Palmetto, la nuit, pieds-nus.

French is my second language - so I might not be perfect but I htink it is very close

It's actually a type of plant... http://www.sfrc.ufl.edu/4h/Saw_palmetto/sawpalme.htm - has really sharp leaf stems.
