Politie boos na ramptoerisme bij suïcidaal meisje

Summary:

A runaway girl from a psychiatric institution was found tonight. She was soaked and shivering for already an hour on the floor because of the cold on the Groenburgwal. (busy passenger bridge in Amsterdam) However, bystanders didn't helped her, but filmed her. Eventually certian videos of the girl even appeared on YouTube.

One bystander decided to call the police. Eventually an ambulance was called and they found out that she was suffering from hyperthermic.

- It should be obvious by checking the daily news that a significant amount of the population likes to film and mock people who are suffering. Wherever it happens, those creatures are always nearby at any given spot and time.

It's sad to hear something like this, especially when outward signs show a human is in distress and suffering. I wonder - how many of those bystanders - even contemplated the thought - what it would feel like to be helpless and in need of medical attention - yet viewed like a zoo animal for entertainment?

A good portion of our Society has lost it's humanity and are totally neutral to natural instincts and survival.
The only one with a sense of conscious, called the Police.

I also wonder, considering she walked away from a psychiatric institution, if she was on medication that lower her metabolism (sedatives) compromising her resistance to the cold damp weather, adding another element to a bad situation?

I hope she was given proper care after the ambulance arrived.

Could be, article also stated that she is suicidable, if you're maniacal depressed seeking out extremes in the hope of stopping the pain happens (like suddenly jumping in the water like she did) It's a way of dissociating, Tho, I can't speak for her, but I can imagine that is why she did it. Trying to escape painful thoughts can drive you beyond confused.

She was brought to the hospital and after that returned to the psychiatric institution.

It's all beyond sad. She needs care and love, but was treated with mockery and inhumanity. Apparently many people found it funny and filmed her while she was suffering from hyperthermic

Situations like this occur globally and have reached epidemic levels. Fact is that in many countries you have to oblige to your civil duty when people are in need of help. You can be charged with serious negligence if you don't help someone in need. Not only did they not help, they even encouraged the situation. Governments should form taskgroups and hunt those people down. It's all within legal means, what they did was criminal. And they should be treated as such.
