Global Consciousness Project - RED, then YELLOW

Another day on Planet Earth.
Just wondering if anyone noticed that today morning (10/7) at about 7:30am Pacific Time the GCP indicator light was RED. :scared: (This was on both sites:
_http://noosphere.princeton.edu/ and _http://astrotransits.blogspot.com/ . I checked it again about 9am and it had receded back to Yellow.  :/
So....whaddaya think?  "Divine" intervention? :rolleyes: :cool2:

Or, maybe human consciousness "wising up" to psychopathology, psychically interfering with their plans(?). If that's the case, and in any case, the phenomenal work of the SOTT folks (staff, writers, mods, forumites, readership) is undeniably one of the most important consciousness-raising things goin on on this here BBM.

I just went to check and it is green now. :huh:

May i suggest "webmaster intervention"

How can they measure that kind of thing and how can it go from red to green in the same day?
 
The Global Consciousness Project is one of those out there exercises coming out of the Princeton Engineering Anomalies Research Lab.

I've just learned of the Global Consciousness Project. Anyone know if this is worth the fancy name or just another COINTELPRO / disinformation job?

I've turned up some dubious info online, but as usual, can't really tell what to believe. Wiki says:
The Global Consciousness Project (GCP, also called the EGG Project) is a parapsychology experiment begun in 1998 as an attempt to detect possible interactions of "global consciousness" with physical systems. The project monitors a geographically distributed network of hardware random number generators in a bid to identify anomalous outputs that correlate with widespread emotional responses to sets of world events, or periods of focused attention by large numbers of people.[1] The GCP is privately funded through the Institute of Noetic Sciences[2] and describes itself as an international collaboration of about 100 research scientists and engineers.

Skeptics such as Robert T. Carroll, Claus Larsen, and others have questioned the methodology of the Global Consciousness Project, particularly how the data are selected and interpreted,[3][4] saying the data anomalies reported by the project are the result of "pattern matching" and selection bias which ultimately fail to support a belief in psi or global consciousness.[5] Other critics, whilst disagreeing with GCP findings, have noted that the open operation of GCP "is a testimony to the integrity and curiosity of those involved."[6]

Doing a bit of digging, it looks as though some strange stuff and people are involved including funding from the late Laurance/Laurence Rockefeller, McDonnell Douglas founder John McDonnell, and the Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge Foundation. However, I would need to look into these claims a little deeper for more solid evidence to support these claims.
